Keith Thurman wants KO win over Robert Guerrero on March 7th

thurman66By Dan Ambrose: Newly crowned WBA World welterweight champion Keith Thurman (24-0, 21 KOs) says he’ll be looking to be the first fighter to KO former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KOs) in their fight on March 7th in this Premier Boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero, #2 WBC, #4 WBA, #7 IBF, has never been knocked out before during his 14-year pro career so it would be a big deal if the 26-year-old Thurman were able to get a stoppage win over Guerrero. But for Thurman to accomplish that task, he’s going to need to stay in the pocket more than he has in his previous fights.

Robert Guerrero wants to put Keith Thurman in his place on March 7th

guerrero55664By Dan Ambrose: Thus far, WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (24-0, 21 KOs) has been pretty well sheltered his handlers in terms of the match-making that’s been done for him. His best opponents thus far have been Jesus Soto Karass, Jan Zaveck, Carlos Quintana, Leonard Bundu, and Diego Chaves.

Karass and Chaves both staggered Thurman, and Bundu had him on the run for 12 rounds. Thurman will be defending his title against former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KOs) on March 7th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Keith Thurman elevated from interim to full WBA welterweight champion

thurman666By Dan Ambrose: On Wednesday, the World Boxing Association elevated interim WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (24-0, 21 KOs) from interim champion to the full WBA 147 pound champion. However, that doesn’t mean that the 26-year-old Thurman is the main champ for the WBA, because they’ve got Floyd Mayweather Jr, who the WBA calls their “Super World welterweight” champion.

The WBA has kind of made it confusing for boxing fans with their interim, regular and Super World titles that they hand out to champions in the same weight class. The good news is the WBA now has just two champions at 147. The bad news is they’ll likely soon appoint a WBA interim champion.

Thurman vs. Guerrero official announcement: The Boxing public waiting in anticipation for it

thurman432By Dan Esch: Boxing fans and Thurman / Guerrero fans alike are salivating in anticipation for a fight “rumored” to be taking place on March 7th 2015. Right away if you don’t know, one of the major points of this fight is that supposedly and I say supposedly because it is still not confirmed yet but this card will be FREE meaning it will be aired on regular NBC television not PPV, HBO or SHOWTIME. I give respect were respect is due and the man behind this card on NBC is none other than Al Haymon the “behind the scenes” manager for many of the star boxers of today.

Haymon has been getting some bad press and negative feedback on some of his “miss matched” fights i.e. Garcia vs. Salka in 2014 but maybe that was the “plan”.
