Eubank Sr. says they still want Billy Joe Saunders

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Sr. is still interested in setting up a rematch between his son #2 WBA, #2 WBC Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) and unbeaten WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders (23-0, 12 KOs) so that his son can avenge his loss to Saunders from 2014. However, Eubank Sr. doesn’t know if Saunders is interested in the fight with Eubank Jr. Saunders has a chance of potentially getting a nice payday fight against former two division champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in December.

If Saunders takes energy showing interest in a fight against Eubank Jr. right now, he could wind up missing out on a fight against Canelo Alvarez. A fight against Canelo might have a more realistic chance of taking place for Saunders than a rematch against Eubank Jr., because the negotiations for that fight could prove to be a real headache for Saunders and his promoter.

Saunders offers Eubank Jr. 80-20 split for rematch

saunders775

By Scott Gilfoid: Billy Joe Saunders and trainer Chris Eubank Sr. got into a little spat on social media today about this and that. Saunders pointed out that Eubank Sr. had got his son Chris Eubank Jr. a lot of money over the Gennady GGG Golovkin deal where he chose not to sign the contract for that fight. Eubank Sr. then intimated that he would let Saunders fight his son Eubank Jr. At this point, Saunders said the fight against Eubank Jr. can happen as long as he agrees to an 80-20 split of the loot for the fight.

It’s unclear if this was Saunders’ way of ducking the Eubank Jr rematch, but it would seem so. There’s no way Eubank Jr would accept such a low money split with the 26-year-old Saunders, who is seen by many in the boxing community as little more than a paper champion at best.

Fury vs Chisora & Saunders vs Eubank Jr. Bad Blood Preview & Predictions

fury4by Ciaran McKInney: This coming Saturday, after what seems like an endless stream of press conferences, retirement threats and pre-fight antics, the boxing world will watch ‘Bad Blood’. The card will be headlined by the rematch of Tyson Fury vs Dereck Chisora. This domestic level bout will see the british and European straps up for grabs, however, the real prize of this bout, is the mandatory position for a fight with Wladimir Klitschko some time in 2015. This fight could potentially be a fight of the year candidate in the heavyweight division. It has all the ingredients, two hungry combatants, big punchers and a grudge that has played out over the course of the past 4 years.
