Brook suffered an ankle injury and had to pull out of the Cook fight.

The judges scored the fight 118-108, 119-107, and 119-107. Boxing News 24 scored the fight 10-1-1 in favor of Yafai due to his high number of power shots landed.
By Scott Gilfoid: 23-year-old WBC International welterweight champion Sam Eggington (20-3, 12 KOs) had too much youth tonight in stopping 36-year-old former two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi (36-8, 7 KOs) by an 8th round knockout on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England.
By Eric Baldwin: Welterweights Paulie Malignaggi and Sam Eggington have been added to the David Haye vs. Tony Bellew card on March 4 at the O2 Arena in London, UK. The 36-year-old Malignaggi (36-7, 7 KOs) might soon regret taking this fight against the 23-year-old Eggington (19-3, 11 KOs).
It’s a bad match-up for Malignaggi at this point in his career. Eggington is coming off of a big 8th round TKO win over Frankie Gavin last October, and he’s looking very good right now. Two of Eggington’s defeats in his career have come in 3 round fights.

By Scott Gilfoid: A nice little domestic level scrap will be taking place this Saturday night between former welterweight world title challenger Frankie Gavin (23-2, 14 KOs) and Sam Egginton (18-3, 10 KOs) on October 22 in a fight for the vacant World Boxing Council International welterweight title at the Barclaycard Arena.
It’s a decent fight between two second tier fighters that are battling hard to get into the top tier to challenge the bigger names. Gavin, 31, already fought for a world title in May of 2015 in losing a 6th round knockout to IBF 147lb champion Kell Brook.
There was nothing in that performance from Gavin that would suggest that he can come again and have better results against Brook or one of the other champions in the welterweight division, but you can’t blame Gavin for wanting to try.
