Pacquiao says Khan fight is a done deal for April 23

By Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao says his team has come to terms with British boxing star Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) for a fight on April 23. Khan, 29, has also confirmed that that he’s agreed to terms with Pacquiao for April 23. It’s unclear how #2 WBO contender Jeff Horn is taking this information, because he and his promoters were hoping to face Pacquiao next.

The money that Pacquiao was going to get for the fight was reportedly not in the same ballpark as the $38M offer from the UAE. There’s no word from Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum about the Pacquiao-Khan fight today. Arum was previously working on a deal for Pacquiao to fight Horn on April 23 in Brisbane, Australia.

Arum says Pacquiao could still face Horn if no Khan fight

Image: Arum says Pacquiao could still face Horn if no Khan fight

By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum still hasn’t given up on matching him against Australian fighter Jeff Horn IF the fight against Amir Khan fails to materialize. Arum said that if the deal for Pacquiao to fight Khan in the UAE gets done this weekend, then the fight will take place on April 22.

Pacquiao is hoping the Khan fight will take place next. He’s received a big $38 million offer to fight in the United Arab Emirates, but it wouldn’t be against Horn. It would be against Khan. Many of Pacquiao’s boxing fans aren’t interested in seeing Pacquiao fight Jeff Horn, but Arum isn’t letting go of the idea of still making the fight between them. It’s unclear why Arum wouldn’t look for someone besides Horn for Pacquiao to fight if the match against Khan fails to take place.

Arum doubts Pacquiao-Khan fight will happen

By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum has serious doubts whether the money will be there for him to fight Amir Khan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). There’s been a large offer of $38 million for Pacquiao to fight in the UAE. Arum says that Jeff Horn is not the one the organizers want in the UAE.

They want Amir Khan for the fight. Arum says he’s not holding his breath that the $38 million materializes for Pacquiao. Arum does say that offer is a lot more than what Pacquiao would get in fighting Horn in Brisbane, Australia.

Pacquiao negotiating with Amir Khan for next fight

Image: Pacquiao negotiating with Amir Khan for next fight

By Chris Williams: Just days after Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said that Amir Khan is not in the picture for Manny Pacquio’s next fight in April, the Filipino star announced the news tonight that he IS in negotiations with Khan. Pacquiao, 38, sounds pretty confident about the Khan fight being a possibility for him.

Khan is a far better fight for Pacquiao than Jeff Horn in my view. I still don’t know why Arum didn’t match Pacquiao against Khan last year when he was interested in the fight. Instead of signing Khan for Pacquiao, Arum matched him against two of his Top Rank fighters in Tim Bradley and Jessie Vargas. Not surprisingly, neither fight brought in a lot of PPV buys. It was a missed opportunity to make the Khan vs. Pacquiao fight.

Arum denies Pacquiao vs. Khan fight happening

By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has taken the hot air out of the idea of his fighter Manny Pacquiao facing former light welterweight champion Amir “King” Khan in his next fight. Arum says the Pacquiao-Khan fight IS NOT happening.

Arum didn’t say anything about former four division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner saying that he received a call from Pacquiao’s promoter recently about a fight. Could Broner be a potential opponent for Pacquiao to fight net in Dubai?

Pacquiao interested in Khan fight

1-alvarez-canelo-khan (10)

By Scott Gilfoid: If 37-year-old Manny Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs) can get by Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs) on Saturday night to win his WBO welterweight title, we could be seeing a fight between him and Britain’s Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) in the future. Pacquiao says he’s open to fighting the 29-year-old Khan.

Of course, the decision obvious wouldn’t be up to Pacquiao. His promoter Bob Arum is the one who picks out opponents for him to fight. If Arum chose to offer Pacquiao other fighters, then Khan will be out of luck. Khan was in the running for Pacquiao’s last fight in April of this year, but instead Tim Bradley was selected for that fight date.

Khan says Pacquiao fight would be “amazing”

khan200By Scott Gilfoid: It’s still up in the air right now whether Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) will do battle on April 9th next year or not. Khan, who is about to turn 29-years-old next month, badly wants the Pacquiao fight to happen.

Khan says the negotiations are still taking place, and he’s hoping that he’ll be the next guy that the soon to be 37-year-old Pacquiao faces next year. Khan has a lot of competition in trying to land the Pacquiao fight. Bob Arum of Top Rank is keen on setting Pacquiao up with his unbeaten fighter WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) in April.

Khan says Pacquiao negotiations are going smoothly

Amir Khan vs Devon AlexanderBy Allan Fox: Former IBF/WBA 140lb champ Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) is pretty excited about his potential fight with the 36-year-old former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) on April 9th.

Despite Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum mentioning Terence Crawford frequently in the last two weeks as a strong candidate for Pacquiao’s fight on 4/9, Khan says that the negotiations are going really well between his management and Pacquiao’s.

Khan: I’ve pulled out of Pacquiao negotiations

khan44By Scott Gilfoid: Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) has given up on trying to negotiate a fight with former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) for May of 2016. Khan says that he thinks that Pacquiao and his management are stalling, and making him wait around for them rather than signing the contract to make the fight happen.

Khan, 28, says he’s not going to just wait around for a fight against Pacquiao like he did with Floyd Mayweather Jr. So because of that, he says he’s pulled out of the negotiations with the Filipino fighter and is moving on to find another opponent for his next fight, which he says will be in December.
