Pacquiao beats Bradley and proves that he’s back

bradley356By Power VCT: First off, congrats to both Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) and Tim Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) for a very good entertaining fight last night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao won by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores 116-112, 116-112, and 118-110. In my honest opinion, I scored the bout a draw and I don’t agree with the spread of the judges, but I understand boxing and politics.

Now Pacquiao and Bradley are linked into the rematch at some point in the future, as Jim Lampley elaborated on last night. Hopefully the third fight will take place this September of 2014. The bad part of last night’s Pacquiao-Bradley fight is, again, in my honest opinion neither fighter has what it takes to defeat “Pretty Boy” Floyd “Money” Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO’s).

Bradley suffers calf injury, loses to Pacquiao

pac777By Chris Williams: Tim Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) dominated Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) last night through the first part of the fight, but a calf injury caused the 30-year-old Bradley to slow up after the 4th, leading eventually to a narrow 12 round unanimous decision defeat to Pacquiao last night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two of the judges had the fight scored correctly at 116-112, 116-112, while the third judge had his scorecard way off to what had happened in the ring last night by scoring it 118-110.

We’ll never know what would have happened had Bradley not suffered the injury, but what we do know is that he was dominating Pacquiao before the injury. You can draw conclusions from that, I guess.

Pacquiao wins unanimous decision over Bradley

pac78676by Jojo Fugaban: Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) had won convincing 12 round unanimous decision last Saturday night against defending WBO world champion Timothy Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, full 3 minutes of aggression from Pacquiao had never come. Though judges had scored a unanimous decision (116-112, 116-112 and 118-110) favoring the Pacman. Dominance throughout the fight was not seen, as Pacquiao was as at some point being cautious of being caught by a big lucky punch from Bradley.

Being cautious though is one factor but Bradley should be given the accolades as the young and talented Bradley could not be denied of his prowess of being a counter puncher and having observed to be a solid and well- conditioned coming into the fight. However, the speed and foot work for Pacman has made a huge difference in this fight. Making different angles needed for a counter punching machine to mechanically malfunction throughout the fight.

Pacquiao decisions Bradley, captures WBO 147lb title

pac890By Allan Fox: Former 8 division world champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) avenged his previous defeat against WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) by beating him by a 12 round unanimous decision tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The final judge’s scores were 116-112, 116-112, and 118-110.

Bradley controlled the action in much of the first quarter of the fight, but Pacquiao came on starting with the 7th and dominated the last 6 rounds to win what appeared to be a close decision.

#1 WBO lightweight champion Raymundo Beltran (29-6-1, 17 KO’s) not surprisingly defeated substitute opponent Arash Usmanee (20-2-1, 10 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision to win the vacant NABO lightweight. The final judges’ scores were 118-110, 117-111, and 117-111.

My Prediction: Tim Bradley Will Lose The Bout to Pacquiao

pac2by Alon Calinao Dy: Undefeated American Boxer Timothy Bradley (31-0-12 KO’s) will have his defeat for the first time in his professional boxing career, as Manny Pacquiao has promised his supporters and even his critics that will come out victorious tonight at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although Bradley said to ESPN, “Get the pillows ready by the ringside,” it does not affect his 100 percent concentration to knock Bradley out in the first 6th rounds. And I don’t think Pacquiao can beat Bradley ny knockout, but if old Manny is back, I do believe that the American boxer is in serious trouble.

Pacquiao needs a spectacular win tonight, says Koncz

pac1By Chris Williams: Michael Koncz, the personal adviser to Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s), thinks that Manny will need a really spectacular victory to show boxing fans that he’s still relevant and one of the top guys in the sport. In other words, just beating Bradley by a normal decision won’t be good enough if it’s a fairly close outcome, which is very likely to happen due to the two fighters being close to each other in the talent department.

Pacquiao is going to need more than just a knockout to get a fight against Boxing’s No.1 star Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao is going to need another big win, and he’s probably going to need to leave Top Rank at the end of the year when his contract expires Mayweather will consider giving a fight.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley 2 Pre Fight Analysis

pac535424By Gerardo Gomez: Tonight’s fight between Pacquiao vs Bradley 2 has finally arrived. The most talked about rematch in the past year is now upon us. The MGM Grand will be filled with celebrities who always invade Las Vegas whenever Pacquiao fights. Both fighters came weighed in yesterday at 145 lbs, with Bradley coming at a ripped 145.

The building to the fight was based on Pacquiao being robbed by the judges and Bradley being given a gift. Both fighters have something to prove on this fight. For Bradley, he has to show the world that his victory over Pacquiao was not a gift and has to win convincingly to prove that. For Pacquiao, he has to show he still has that killer instinct that made him one of the best boxers of our generation. He has to erase that “compassionate” tag that has been planted on him by his own trainer.

Bradley: Get a pillow ready by ringside

bradley0001By Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0 12 KO’s) wants the pillows to be ready by the ringside so that when he scores a knockout tonight, Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) will have a place to rest his head on the canvas at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bradley feels that he’s going to need a knockout tonight in order to keep from getting shafted by the judges.

“Get the pillows ready by the ringside,” Bradley said to ESPN. “I’ve got to knock him [Pacquiao] out. That’s what we need. I want to knock this dude out. I have no doubt, that’s what I need. That’s what the fans need. I have a knockout with Manny Pacquiao’s name on it. I think anything’s possible, even 12 knockouts. The punch that you don’t see that lands on the right spot and the right time can end your night.”

Pacquaio will win by KO or completely dominate the fight

pac73729999by Bob Smith: Sometimes what appear to be evenly matched big fights are not actually so after careful consideration. One recent example was the Canelo-Alvarez fight – I tended to favor Mayweather by default, but an engaging and incisive article by writer Bob Smith really confirmed my viewpoints:

http://www.boxingnews24.com/2013/06/alvarez-will-land-fewer-than-7-punches-per-round-en-route-to-a-clear-loss/

At the same time, sometimes a clear favorite due to hype actually faces a 50/50, fight, as in the case or Broner vs. Maidana.  Do not get me wrong, I like both fighters and both have bright pasts and futures, but for Broner to face the caliber of welterweight of a Marcos Maidana was simply too much too soon, and actually, Bob Smith mentioned this earlier in the year last year:

My Prediction: Manny Pacquiao will win by Knockout

pac8888By M.Malik: It surprises me to read that many are giving Timothy Bradley a fair chance at winning the fight tonight. Yes, Manny Pacquiao is past his prime, and he hasn’t looked amazing since beating Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. But to suggest that Timothy Bradley stands a chance against Manny Pacquiao is simply absurd. Don’t get me wrong, I like Timothy Bradley, and I think he is a very good fighter. He’s got heart, and he shows up to fight, but he is just not in Manny Pacquiao’s class.

Manny Pacquiao has no one to blame but himself for taking his foot off the accelerator in their first encounter. Then again, who would have thought in their right mind that the judges were scoring the fight in Timothy Bradley’s favor? Timothy Bradley is good at many things, but he doesn’t do anything special. Manny Pacquiao at this point in his career is still levels above him. Timothy Bradley tried to go toe to toe with Ruslan Provodnikov and almost got knocked out.
