Bradley’s trainer will have him go all out against Pacquiao if he’s losing

bradley5777By Dan Ambrose: Joel Diaz, the trainer for WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s), says he’s going to have Bradley go all out by the 6th round if he sees that the fights not going in Bradley’s direction. Diaz wants Bradley to go out in a blaze of glory by trying hard for a knockout against the aging 35-year-old Pacquiao, and by doing so he feels that it’s possible that he could score a knockout. Diaz notes that Pacquiao is an older fighter who fades late in his fights, and he thinks that Bradley could capitalize on that by going all out in the second half of the fight.

“In the later rounds, Tim gets stronger,” Diaz said to HBO. “We know that Manny Pacquiao, at this point in his career, he’s very strong in the early rounds and he fades in the later rounds. Of course, age kicks in at one point in your life. Tim is the type of fighter that can adjust to any stage that Manny Pacquiao brings. At the same time I’ve very aware to make adjustments round by round.

Roach: Tim Bradley and Brandon Rios are at the same level

roach67By Allan Fox: Trainer Freddie Roach isn’t impressed with the talent and the overall skills of WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s), and he sees Manny Pacquiao (55-5, 38 KO’s) being able to take him out on Saturday night by jumping on him early to demolish him in front of the large Las Vegas, Nevada crowd. Roach thinks that Bradley is no better than Pacquiao’s last opponent Brandon Rios, who Pacquiao turned into a human punching bag in beating last November in one of his easier wins of his career.

“I think Rios and Bradley are pretty much at the same level,” Roach told Max Kellerman of HBO. I don’t think he’s much better than him. I think Manny should devastate him in the same way [Ruslan Provodnikov did], yes.”

Pacquiao vs. Bradley II: Speculations and Predictions

pac44444By Jay McIntyre: Why should you watch the rematch between Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) and Timothy Bradley (31-0-0-1, 12 KO’s)? The short answer: why not? To elaborate, this fight becomes something of a cross-roads (as many do) for both men. When we consider the longevity and dominance of Manny Pacquiao’s career, against the flawless record of Timothy Bradley – who still appears to be surging force in the welterweight ranks – we must give ourselves a moment to reflect.

To see two men both talented in their own way, both poised to move forward with their respective careers, and when both are still quite relevant, is truly a moment to appreciate. There are awful mismatches, painful decisions, and random acts of skulduggery in the sport of boxing, but let us be thankful that tomorrow night we get to see a fight among relative equals.

Pacquiao: Bradley will have to prove he can knock me out

bradley24By Dan Ambrose: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) was talking knockout today at this weigh-in with former 8 division world champion Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bradley said he’s going to KO Manny, and leave no doubts at all who the better fighter is.

The confidence that Bradley exuded didn’t reflect with the reality of their previous fight, though, because Pacquiao was clearly the better fighter, and it was hard to give Bradly more than 1-2 rounds due to his inability to engage in the fight. He ran himself into two injured ankles, and ruined the whole esthetic quality of the fight with his constant running.

Weights: Pacquiao 145, Bradley 145.5

pac53267By Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) weighed in successfully today for his fight on Saturday night against Filipino star Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bradley weighed in at 145.5 pounds and looked totally cut up, and in excellent shape.

The pro-Manny crowd booed Bradley the entire time, but this seemed to encourage him because he thrives on being booed. The fans probably didn’t realize they were helping him get even more motivated than he already is. Just in looking at Bradley, I think he looks a lot better than Pacquiao as far as being in good shape.

Atlas picks Bradley to beat Pacquiao

bradley7393====By Chris Williams: ESPN analyst Teddy Atlas questions whether Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) has truly recovered from his vicious knockout loss at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez two years ago, and he feels that there’s too many unknowns going into his fight this Saturday night for him to beat WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s). Atlas thinks Pacquiao has some self-doubts about whether he can still take a hard shot, and he feels that is going to be one of the factors that will lead to him losing to Bradley.

Atlas also thinks Pacqiao’s hectic life is something that will potentially trip him up in this fight, because he’s got a lot of different things on his plate that he’s juggling at the same time right now.

Pacquiao: I am hoping for the Mayweather fight

pac73899By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) has an important fight this Saturday night against WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s), but the 35-year-old Filipino star has his mind on a much bigger fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and he’s really hoping that his performance against Bradley will get him that fight.

For Pacquiao to have even a sliver of a chance at getting a big cash out fight against Mayweather, he’ll need to destroy Bradley in quick fashion. Pacquiao is going to need to crush Bradley in at least 3 rounds for fans to get excited about him fighting Mayweather, because grinding out a simple 12 round decision, which will likely be a close and controversial one, won’t be enough for Pacquiao to get the fight.

Arum: Bradley’s best chance to win is if Pacquiao fights a stupid fight

bradley69-By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum thinks that WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) has been purposely trying to ramp Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) into a wild fighting frenzy to where he’ll come on like a mad dog on Saturday night and will run up on one of Bradley’s right hand shots that will do the work for Bradley by generating most of the power.

Arum doesn’t think Pacquiao is falling for it, as he expects him to fight under control when his two Top Rank fighters meet each other at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
