By Rishad Marquardt: On August 5, 2017, the Ukrainian WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko put on a boxing display with such a high degree of skill, he simply made his resolute Colombian opponent, Miguel Marriaga, look like an amateur out of his depths. By the time Marriaga’s corner raised the ‘no mas’ white flag, the contest had become laughably one sided. The bout was akin to a child armed with a water pistol in a gunfight against Jesse James in the flesh.

By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum was overjoyed with his fighter WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko’s victory over Miguel Marriaga last Saturday night in saying he hasn’t seen anyone like him with his skills since Muhammad Ali. The fight between Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) and Marriaga (25-3, 21 KOs) was televised by ESPN in front of a small crowd of 4,102 boxing fans at the Microsoft Arena in Los Angeles, California.

By Michael Montero: Ukrainian juggernaut Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko took care of business at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Saturday night, dropping Colombian Miguel Marriaga twice before scoring a TKO7 win. It was another dominating performance from the WBO super featherweight titlist, now 9-1 (7KO), who really seems to be coming into his own as a pro. Almost instantly after referee Jack Reiss signaled that Marriaga’s corner had stopped the bout after the 7th round, fans around the world began asking what’s next for Hi-Tech.
