Mayweather-Pacquiao: Part of my dream list for 2010

By Peter Wells: As the year of 2009 draws to a close with only 6 fighting weeks remaining, and only a few big fights to draw a close to a controversial and exciting year. It is now time to start to look ahead to 2010, fights are being made and whispers are spreading around, but there are so many fights we want to see next year it seems impossible to cram it all in. Here is my list of fights that I would love to see happen next year, not all of them will be hugely appealing to most people but they are fights that make sense:

Mayweather Poses the Biggest Threat To Pacquiao, And you Pacman fans know it

mayweather34245235By Kevin Park: You know what’s the most annoying thing about World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquaio? His one-sided biased fan base. I hate many of Pacquiao’s fans for their arrogance and ignorance, seriously. Many of the anti-Mayweather fans who claim he is over-rated, the majority are annoying Pacman fans. There is an excuse for every fight and we all know that. Whether it be the weight, the trainer, the ring, etc, etc.

The opponents are as follows: Matthew Hatton, Dimitriy Salita and Carlos Quintana. This is somewhat shocking news, because the boxing world has been counting on seeing a fight between Mayweather and World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather – Pacquiao: It can be as simple as 3 “IFs”

mayweather453244459By Rowell Anthony Maghirang: There is no denying that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has got boxing skills. He probably has the best defensive style in the game. On the other hand, we have the Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, who nobody, in the right state of mind, can deny has got one of the most powerful offensive weaponry that any boxer can wish they’d possess. And after Pacquiao’s very impressive display against Cotto, we all can’t stop ourselves from wanting that these two work of arts meet in the ring.

Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. scared of The Pacman?

mayweather43448By Amar Jahangir: The American Mayweather has certainly kept up its countries heritage in boxing by avoiding the fights against the top dogs of the division.

Manny Pacquiao thinks a money-spinning showdown with Floyd Mayweather won’t happen because Pretty Boy doesn’t want to fight him.

Any hopes of the pair ever meeting in the ring appeared to have disappeared completely when Mayweather announced his retirement.

Who Should Mayweather fight First: Pacquiao or Mosley?

mayweather445645By Sean McDaniel: Floyd Mayweather Jr’s impressive 12 round unanimous decision last Saturday night over Juan Manuel Marquez may have done enough to reestablish the 32-year-old Mayweather as boxing’s number #1 pound for pound fighter in the sport. The fight was so one-sided that it because somewhat boring to watch after the first few rounds because Mayweather was far too fast and superior defensively for the slower and smaller Marquez to handle.

Mayweather and Pacquiao: Two Warriors Standing in Each Others way of Legendary Status

mayweather434245By Amar J Khan: Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, perhaps this decade’s most skillful fighters in their own right. We have Mayweather, who is furious the public have forgotten his sensational victory over a prime Oscar De La Hoya whilst going up to 154. Mayweather believes Pacquiao received great credit for his victories over Oscar and Hatton, whilst he did not. Mayweather is nearing the end of his career. I would say his last fight will be against Manny Pacquiao and that fight will take place after Mayweather defeats Juan Manuel Marquez.

Mayweather/Pacquiao: The fight the fans deserve

mayweather4347665By Eoin Cooke: 2009 hasn’t been an enjoyable year for fight fans. Save for the fireworks of Marquez/Diaz, there has been little to excite the boxing public this year. Set aside that fight, and possibly Clottey/Cotto and 2009 has been mostly a tale of poor cards and cancellations. In February, HBO charged almost $50 for fans to see Miguel Cotto and Kelly Pavlik crush overmatched opponents.
