By Dan Ambrose: Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KO’s) may have lost his WBC welterweight title and some respect from boxing fans from his 4th round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s), but WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios believes that Ortiz still has a fairly bright future ahead of him. Rios, who hasn’t been on the best of terms with Ortiz lately, thinks Ortiz has two or three good fights in front of him before he hangs up his gloves.

Khan: Mayweather’s last few opponents picked the wrong gameplan
By William Mackay: IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan thinks that Floyd Mayweather’s last few opponents have used the wrong approach to beating him. Mayweather-Ortiz expected to bring in a minimum of 1.3 million PPV buys
By Chris Williams: For those boxing fans who care, the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz mega fight reportedly expected to bring in a minimum of 1.3 million pay per view buys and will likely go much higher when the final numbers are released. De La Hoya: Ortiz was just warming up against Mayweather when he was hit with a cheap shot
By Dan Ambrose: Oscar De La Hoya thinks that his fighter former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz was just warming up in his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. De Hoya says Ortiz’s momentum was cut short by the cheap shot that Mayweather landed in the 4th round when referee Joe Cortez was looking outside of the ring instead of at the two fighters.

By Rasheed Catapang: Know your enemy. Sun Tzu’s wise advise which echoed through the ages obviously did not reach Victor Ortiz. It either fell on deaf ears or a fool just won’t heed it.
Is Arum attempting to drive Mayweather over the edge?
By John F. McKenna (McJack): Even when Top Rank CEO Bob Arum was promoting the fights for new World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champ Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s) their relationship was anything but pleasant. The pair had an acrimonious split in 2006 and things have gone downhill ever since. Both parties continue to take pot shots at each other on a frequent basis.
The way that Ortiz lost could hurt him in trying to get rematches against Berto and Mayweather
By Eric Thomas: Losing the way he did could really badly hurt former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KO’s) in his hopes for getting rematches first with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and secondly with Andre Berto. Ortiz appeared looked as if he was melting down mentally at the time decided to headbutt Mayweather for no particular reason, and the drop his hands to his sides after the fight was resumed following a point deduction.
