The Manny Pacquiao Wars Part II: Rise of the Player Haters

cotto29By Steve Lewis: Previously, I had written about the common post-Pacquiao fight phenomenon called “Monday Morning Quarterbacking.” There is also another sister effect to Monday Morning Quarterbacking. It has been part of our landscape since time immemorial. It is what is referred to by the newer generation as “player hating,” which is often defined as the disliking, resenting, or disapproving of a person due to his/her success or coveted assets. The term “player hater” is often associated with those who are jealous or envious of someone else’s achievements.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao match WILL happen, and it’s more a question of where rather then when.

pac4324423By Frank Car: The highly anticipated bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Many Pacquiao will happen, why? Well because, the answer is right there, it’s “highly anticipated.” Wait, let me reword that, it has EXTREMELY high anticipation. Wait, one more time, it is perhaps the most anticipated bout between two boxers in recent memory. Both at perfect times in their career. It’s not only about their career, it is about the “career” of boxing.

Why Floyd “Money” Mayweather Might have a chance against the Mighty Pacquiao

By Derrick Villanueva: I recently wrote an article entitled 5 Reasons Why You Should Bet on Pacquiao. I think it’s only fair to write a similar article for “Money.”

“Money” has Great Defense – I’ve never seen a better defensive fighter than Mayweather. Never. Maybe Ali in his early career, but that’s about it. “Money” is quick, slippery, and nigh un-hittable-like a Young James Toney on Meth. Those punches that do connect slide off or is rolled with, resulting in minimal or no damage. I hate to say it but Mayweather is nothing short of Brilliant in this department.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: It’s about composure and movement

pac44557By Harold Tackie: I have seen a lot of rubbish articles regarding the possible fight between two fighters regarded as pound-4-pound the best in the world. Some be Floyd Mayweather Jr. will get hammered because all he does is run; others believe World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will get hammered because he is not on par with Mayweather in any way, shape or form. The thing that strikes me is that the majority of these opinions are purely based on the last couple fights each man has had and based on their character. As easy at it is to disparaging to each fighter, I am going to try to base my opinion on fact and actual boxing, and leave emotion out of it.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao – THE FACTS: Why You Should Bet on ‘Money’ and Not Gamble with ‘Pacman’

pac34343By Mark Phillips: After millions watched in awe at Manny Pacquiao’s destructive TKO over Miguel Cotto on November 14th where Pacquiao claimed a record breaking seven world titles in seven different weight divisions, it seems as though boxing has finally been fully resurrected, standing proud in light of its most exciting weight class, with a new mainstream star seemingly unbeatable even against Puerto Reco’s toughest.

Mayweather Poses the Biggest Threat To Pacquiao, And you Pacman fans know it

mayweather34245235By Kevin Park: You know what’s the most annoying thing about World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquaio? His one-sided biased fan base. I hate many of Pacquiao’s fans for their arrogance and ignorance, seriously. Many of the anti-Mayweather fans who claim he is over-rated, the majority are annoying Pacman fans. There is an excuse for every fight and we all know that. Whether it be the weight, the trainer, the ring, etc, etc.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao – Article 1

mayweather4332464By Ibrar Arshaid: I recently read a post by a fellow writer Jorge Lugo headlined ‘Floyd Mayweather is overrated’. I read the article and read all the responses and I honestly was in shock that so many people actually think that Mayweather is overrated. The responses were just ridiculous, ‘Floyd has never fought anyone in his career’, ‘Mayweather has ducked the best fighters his entire career’, ‘Manny would kill Mayweather and Floyd is just running scared from Pacquiao’ etc. Reading all these stupid responses honestly made me think why people hate this guy so much.
