Roger Mayweather: Canelo can be a super star even if he loses to Floyd Jr.

canelo348By Allan Fox: Roger Mayweather, the uncle for Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s), thinks his opponent WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) can still reach super star status in their next fight on September 14th, even if Canelo loses the fight.

Roger points out that if Canelo merely is competitive with Mayweather Jr., he’ll be a super star because he’ll have given him boxing’s #1 fighter trouble. Fans will then rally behind Canelo and still see him as a great star because he was able to do this at such an early at 22.

De La Hoya believes that the 22-year-old Canelo will absolutely, 100% beat the 36-year-old Mayweather when the two meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the Art of Punching

floyd659By Tewodore: You as the reader are probably saying here we go again more rubbish but this article is about the subtle aspect that no one really truly ever mentions about Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) his art of punching.

It hit me like Eureka!  It was always there this guys a monster. Holy crap why would you ever wanna fight that guy unless you are like a Bruce Lee replica or something. Most of us always extoll Mayweather for his defense, his adaptability his this or that but how many ever speak of his ability to cover small distances in 1000th of seconds. His uncanny ability to throw a freakin punch without any flinch! nothing you don’t have a clue.

Mayweather Jr. does not need to please everybody

floyd9000By Babatis Banda: We are human, flesh and blood. It is impossible for a mere mortal to please all his fellow mortals. Not even Jesus or Mohamed as it were, was able to please everybody. Not even God, our heavenly father, the creator of both the heavens and the earth has been able to please everyone. Reasons are many, but among the many a few stand out.

Man by his nature is limited in his thinking. Some are better off, while others are worse off. Depending on which side you fall, you are either appreciative or optimistic and objective or you are either simple minded, myopic and very negative in everything you do. You can either be appreciative in nature, or you can be sadistic in nature. Whichever you are, it may reveal a little more of your environment, or how you were brought up or indeed, something about you as a person.

Canelo: I will shock the world; I’m sure I will win

canelo9922By Dan Ambrose: WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) says he knows Floyd Mayweather Jr’s fighting style well after studying him in great deal over the years, and Canelo feels very confident that he’ll beat him on September 14th in their big, big fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo said this as quoted by Mediotiemp.com “I am going to prepare like never in my life because I will win that day and I will shock the world.”

I don’t see Canelo shocking the world in this fight, but I do think it makes for a nice quote. Canelo is basically Robert Guerrero 2.0. He’s going to take well before the fight, but then get badly exposed as a flat-footed fighter that can’t maneuver well around the ring and who comes forward in straight lines.

Sulaiman sees Mayweather-Canelo fight going to a decision

floyd93By Dan Ambrose: World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman doesn’t see there being a knockout in the September 14th fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) and WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sulaiman sees the fight ending by a decision, but he fails to see which fighter will come out on top.

Sulaiman said to deportes.univision “I do not think the fight will be decided by knockout. I think it will go to a decision. Both fighters endure, resist, hit hard, but don’t have overwhelming power and come well prepared to put up a fight that could go 12 rounds because of the style of the two. Saul Alvarez is a great champion and is improving in every fight.”

Mayweather Sr: Canelo could be as easy as Guerrero was

canelo33By Dan Ambrose: Floyd Mayweather Sr. thinks WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) could be an easy a fight for his son Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) as Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero was for him last May.

Floyd Jr. had an easy time defeating Guerrero and it was too easy. The fight was supposed to be a competitive match-up for Mayweather but he totally schooled Guerrero from the 1st round to the final bell.

Toney: Mayweather’s going to knock Canelo out

canelo454By Dan Ambrose: Former three division world champion James “Lights Out” Toney thinks Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) will knock WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) in their fight on September 14th. Toney thinks Mayweather is too skilled for the 22-year-old Canelo. Toney likes Canelo a lot as a fighter, but he doesn’t see him having the experience at this point in his career to beat Mayweather.

Toney said to esnewsreporting.com “Mayweather’s going to knock him out. He’s getting a high paid sparring partner. Alvarez is too stupid to pace himself. Alvarez’s going to get knocked out. A million-five Mexicans going to go home crying.”

Arum: Canelo doesn’t have the stamina to beat Mayweather

alvarez45By Dan Ambrose: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum feels that WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) has very little chance of beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) on September 14th. Arum feels that the 22-year-old Canelo lacks the stamina, hand speed and experience to defeat the 36-year-old Mayweather.

Arum saw Canelo’s fight with Austin Trout last April and noticed how Canelo had gassed out in that fight and was there for the taking by Trout in their open scoring bout at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Arum feels that Trout would have won the fight had he been busier in the last half of the fight when Canelo was badly faded and throwing very little back.
