Frankie Gavin inks with Hearn’s stable

gavin577By Scott Gilfoid: #5 IBF, #10 WBA welterweight contender Frankie Gavin (21-1, 13 KOs) signed a contract with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sport stable on Tuesday in hopes that Hearn can get him a world title shot against IBF 147 pound belt holder Kell Brook.

That’s likely just what will happen in the near future, because Hearn also promotes Brook and it’s a logical fight.

Martin Murray to sign with Matchroom within the month

murray66By Daven: It really was a strange 2013 for two time world middleweight challenger Martin Murray (26-1-1, 11 KO’s). The year started as promising as he could have hoped for. Taking Sergio Martinez to the scorecards in the most hostile of territories is no easy feat; Matthew Macklin and Darren Barker can testify to that and they fought him in USA.
