Maidana to Khan: You owe me a rematch; I’ll fight you on April 20th!

maidana32434By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (33-3, 30 KO’s) has volunteered to be Amir Khan’s next opponent on April 20th this year, and he says Khan owes him a rematch after his win over him back in December 2010.

Khan’s promoter Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions is currently looking at Vyacheslav Senchenko, Victor Ortiz [Who Maidana knocked out] and Josesito Lopez as possible opponents for Khan’s April 20th fight. Not surprisingly, Maidana’s name has wasn’t mentioned as one of the candidates despite the fact that his 2010 fight with Khan was one of the most exciting fights of the year.

Khan had been talking about wanting to fight little known UK fighter Paul McCloskey, but that fight fell through earlier today because of Khan’s low offer.
