Judah: Matthysse punches harder than Danny Garcia

garcia3By Allan Fox: Now having fought both Lucas Matthysse (33-2, 31 KO’s) and Danny Garcia (26-0, 16 KO’s), Zab Judah (42-8, 29 KO’s) says that Matthysse is the harder puncher of the two. Judah points out that Matthysse can punch hard with both hands, not just his left hand like Danny Garcia. Judah lost to Garcia last night by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 116-111, 114-112 and 115-112 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

After the fight, Judah said “Danny punches nothing like Lucas. He punches hard with either hand. It’s crazy I beat him.”

Judah-Garcia conduct split press conference

003Quillin-Ochoa-GarciaIMG_5894(Tom Casino/Showtime) By Allan Fox: In one of the stranger press conferences you’ll ever see, WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) and challenger Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) conducted a split press conference instead of one with the two fighters together to hype their fight for Saturday night at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, USA.

The two fighters were kept apart due to “tension in the air,” Oscar De La Hoya said as quoted by fightnews.

Judah said “He’s going to sleep. This is Brooklyn right here. I’m ready. I’m locked & loaded. y’all talking about a hook? I live in Las Vegas, the land of the hookers! I know how to dodge em!”

Garcia said “I can’t wait to stare him in the eyes and take his soul out of his body. I’m going to take him into deep waters and drown him.”

Zab Judah vs. Danny Garcia this Saturday, April 27th in Brooklyn, New York

zab judahBy Allan Fox: 35-year-old former two division world champion Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) has a dangerous fight this Saturday night against WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Judah and Garcia were supposed to have fought last February but Garcia suffered a rib and thumb injury that made it necessary for him to postpone the fight. There are rumors that Garcia was too heavy and wouldn’t have been able to make the 140 lb. weight limit even by dehydrating.

Garcia is one of those light welterweights that are really heavy for the division and it gives him a good advantage over his lighter opponents. Judah could have problems in this fight if Garcia rehydrates up to 160+ because he’s more of a true light welterweight compared to Garcia, who is more of a junior middleweight in size.

Judah vs. Garcia winner must face Matthysse next, says WBC

matthysse8By Dan Ambrose: It looks like WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) will finally have to face WBC interim light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (33-2, 31 KO’s) if Garcia can get past his next title defense against Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) on April 27th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The World Boxing Council has ordered the Judah-Garcia winner to fight Matthysse in their next fight, according to fightnews.com. That’s probably not what Judah and Garcia wanted to hear because Matthysse is probably the most dangerous fighter in the 140 pound division right now, and he may be the #1 fighter at this weight.

Judah: Garcia’s having second thoughts after seeing Matthysse fight

judah2By Dan Ambrose: Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) thinks WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) started getting cold feet about the idea of facing him on February 9th after seeing how devastating Lucas Matthysse looked this past weekend in destroying Mike Dallas Jr. by a 1st round knockout win. Judah beat Matthysse by a 12 round decision two years ago in a close fight.

Judah thinks an out of shape Garcia decided he wasn’t ready physically or mentally to fight Judah in February after seeing that fight. Garcia has decided to use a fake injury excuse about his ribs to buy more time to get in shape and to try and get ready for the fight, Judah believes.

Malignaggi vs. Maidana possible for Judah-Garcia undercard on April 27th

maidana545By Dan Ambrose: A fight between WBA World welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KO’s) and former WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (33-3, 30 KO’s) has been tentatively penciled in for the undercard of the Zab Judah vs. Danny Garcia fight card on April 27th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Malignaggi-Maidana hasn’t been confirmed as of yet because there’s still a chance that Malignaggi might decide to defend his title against the World Boxing Association ordered #1 WBA challenger Diego Chavez or Malignaggi could still opt for a title-milking fight against the past his best 41-year-old Shane Mosley. Malignaggi sounded unsure when asked if he was still planning on fighting Mosley when asked last Saturday night by Showtime.

Judah vs. Garcia: Zab will have to get Danny’s respect early or else

judah433By Allan Fox: 35-year-old Zab Judah is considered a big underdog in his fight next month against WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It’s not that Judah has been getting beaten a lot lately that he’s an underdog in this fight, it’s the fact that he hasn’t beaten anyone good for ages and also how poor he looked in getting blasted out by Amir Khan last year in a 5th round knockout loss.

Judah is going to have to land something big early in the fight to keep Garcia from walking him down and bludgeoning him into submission with his left hooks. Garcia has a good left hook and he’ll be looking to use it a lot against Judah if he’s not met with any resistance early in the fight.

Will Judah’s speed and experience be enough to beat Danny Garcia?

judah33By Allan Fox: A lot of boxing fans are writing off 35-year-old Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) as having no chance against WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) in their fight on February 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, Judah will have a big speed and experience against over Garcia in this fight, and that might be enough for him to shock the world and pull off an upset.

Judah’s speed advantage is going to be substantial in this fight. He’s not just a little faster than Garcia, he’s a lot faster. Judah’s speed isn’t at the level of Amir Khan, but it’s close enough to cause Garcia some problems.
