Dillian Whyte trashes Anthony Joshua

whyte5By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight talent Dillian Whyte (15-0, 12 KOs) makes it very clear that he has no use for unbeaten #2 WBC Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs), who he will likely be facing later this year on December 12th in London, UK. Whyte, 27, sees Joshua as a fake type of a person, who he feels is pretentious.

Whyte just does not care for the 6’6” Joshua. None of this matters though because they don’t have to like each other. The two of them will be squaring off in three months from now, and then they can move on after that fight. Whyte already whipped Joshua six years ago in beating him in the amateur ranks.

Gary Cornish: I’m confident I can stop Anthony Joshua

joshua66By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) says he plans on going out there on Saturday night on September 12th and out-boxing and stopping #2 WBC Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) in that order to win the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Cornish, 28, and his team must see something in the heavily muscled Joshua’s fighting style that he believes he can take advantage of for him to out-box him and score a knockout. I don’t see anything in Cornish’s own game that would suggest that he’ll be able to win this fight, but who knows?

Joshua hoping to KO Cornish in first minute of 1st round on Saturday

joshua9913By Scott Gilfoid: Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) is hoping that he can get unbeaten Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) out of there in the first minute of the 1st round on Saturday, September 12th in their fight for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Joshua, 25, likes the idea of blowing out the big 6’7” in the first minute in front of the big crowd supporters. Of Joshua’s 13 knockouts on his resume, he has 4 knockouts in the 1st round. None of the 6’6” Joshua’s opponents have made it past the 3rd round in his last five fights.

Joshua – Cornish & Whyte – Minto this Saturday at O2 Arena, London, UK

whyte7By Scott Gilfoid: This Saturday night boxing fans in the UK will be seeing two interesting heavyweight fights between #2 WBC, #3 WBO, #13 IBF, #13 WBA Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) and Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) in the main event in a fight for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title, and undefeated prospect Dillian Whyte (15-0, 12 KOs) and 40-year-old Brian Minto (41-9, 26 KOs) in a fight for the vacant WBC International Silver heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London, England.

The always tough Minto is a replacement for 40-year-old Dominic Guinn, who recently had to pull out of the fight with the hard hitting Whyte last week.

Anthony Joshua builds up Gary Cornish

joshua100By Scott Gilfoid: In a sign that he’s got a terrible mismatch in front of him, unbeaten #2 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) has taken to the media to try and build up the image of his opponent 28-year-old Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs), who he’ll be facing on September 12th for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

For most boxing fans, this fight is perceived as a dreadful mismatch, as Cornish is just a slow lumbering heavyweight without hand speed, punching power or defensive skills. He’s just a big guy who has been fed a lot of weak opposition since he turned pro in 2011.

Joshua training hard for Cornish fight on September 12th

joshua57By Scott Gilfoid: #2 WBC Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) is hitting the weights pretty hard for his fight next month against unbeaten 6’7” Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) on September 12th at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Joshua, 6’6”, and Cornish will be fighting over the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title.

Joshua wants to win that strap, and then the British title in December against the talented unbeaten Dillian Whyte (15-0, 12 Kos), and then possibly go after the European heavyweight title currently held by undefeated Erkan Teper (15-0, 10 KOs) before moving forward to try and challenge for a world title against the likes of WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) or IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champ Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs).

Joshua: Dillian Whyte is just another opponent

joshua100By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten #2 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) says he’s not worried about facing unbeaten KO artist Dillian Whyte (15-0, 12 KOs) later this year in December, because Joshua sees it as just another fight for him. In other words, Joshua isn’t worried at all about fighting the hard hitting Whyte, even though he batted Joshua around the ring when the two of them fought each other six years ago. Joshua says he’s not even bothered if he loses the fight to Whyte.

Joshua chocks the loss up to Whyte being more experienced at the time than he was. However, Joshua doesn’t appear to have improved as a fighter in all of those years, so it’s hard to see how anything will be different the second time around.

Anthony Joshua focused on getting win against Gary Cornish

joshua100By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated #2 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) says he doesn’t care how he gets his victory over little known Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) in their fight on September 12th at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Joshua just wants to get a victory no matter how it comes about.

The 25-year-old Joshua says he’d like to go 12 rounds so that he can get rounds in, but he’s not going to just take it easy on his opponents in order to let the fight go that far. Joshua doesn’t want to take needless punishment, and put himself at risk of getting hit on the temple with a hard enough shot to get hurt.

Anthony Joshua vs. Gary Cornish on September 12th at O2 in London, UK

joshua56777By Scott Gilfoid: With his promoter Eddie Hearn talking up a match against the talented Dillian Whyte later this year in November or December, #2 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) will be fighting little known 28-year-old Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) two months from now on September 12th for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight strap at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

While the Joshua-Whyte match-up is a good fight on paper, the Joshua-Cornish is fight is not, at least not if you like competitive fights. About the best thing that you can say about the Joshua vs. Cornish fight is the fact that Joshua will be fighting a younger and taller fighter for a change instead of the short old guys that Joshua has pretty much been exclusively fighting since he turned pro.
