Ortiz’s promoter Eddie Hearn has reached out to Miller’s management about the fight.

The fact that Hearn wants to match the 37-year-old Ortiz against Miller suggests that he believes he can win the fight. Ortiz has a lot of options available to him right now. He’s the mandatory for the WBA title, which is about to be fought over by Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua on April 29.

Ortiz’s promoter Eddie Hearn is in favor of the fight, and why wouldn’t he? Ortiz is the more experienced fighter of the two with his extensive amateur background. Miller brings a lot of punching power and youth to the table at 28.

Ortiz is about to turn 38-years-old in March, although many boxing fans believe him to be in his early 40s. Ortiz had looked good in his pro career until recently when he failed to impress in wins over Dave Allen and Malik Scott. It’s not that Ortiz didn’t dominate though two fighters. He definitely dominated them both.

By Patrick McHugh: Undefeated heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller (18-0-1, 16 KOs) did what he said he was going to do last night in stopping the capable Fred Kassi (18-6-1, 10 KOs) in the 3rd round on Showtime Boxing from the Rhinos Stadium in Rochester, NY. Miller, also known as “Big Bady”, trashed the top heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, letting Showtime audience know what he personally thinks of these three champions.

The 28-year-old Miller is just itching for the chance to challenge one of them, because he feels he’s got the talent to unseat them. It’s going to be exciting to see if Miller can do that because at this rate, he should be in range for a world title shot by 2017, possibly 2018 if the sanctioning bodies move him up slowly.
