By Jason Kim: WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KO’s) will be making his 9th title defense of his World Boxing Organization belt on May 5th in a rematch against contender Ola Afolabi (19-2-3, 9 KO’s) a the Messehalle, in Erfurt, Thüringen, Germany. Huck and Afolabi fought previously in December 2009 with Huck doing just enough to edge the fight by a close 12 round unanimous decision. Things have changed since then.

By Jim Dower: After waiting for 2 1/2 years to get another shot against WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KO’s), challenger WBO interim cruiserweight champ Ola Afolabi (19-2-3, 9 KO’s) will finally be getting his rematch next month on May 5th at the Messhalle, in Erfurt, Germany. This an important fight for the 32-year-old Afolabi, because if he loses this one, it may take another two or more years for Afolabi to get another chance.

By William Mackay: Unbeaten Darren Barker (20-0, 13 KO’s) will be facing a replacement Danny Butler (18-2, 3 KO’s) on Saturday night for the vacant BBBofC British middleweight title at the Brentwood Centre, Brentwood, Essex. Barker, 27, was supposed to be facing Wayne Elcock, but he pulled out of the fight complaining of a stomach virus. Fortunately, the light hitting Butler was available to step in and take the fight with Barker. Butler, 22, recently was defeated by Darren McDermott in a 10 round decision on November 13th in a failed attempt to win the BBBofC English middleweight title.
