By Jim Dower: WBO World welterweight champion Jeff Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs) successfully defended his title on Wednesday night in stopping #10 WBO Gary Corcoran (17-2, 7 KOs) by a tougher than expected 11th round TKO victory at the Brisbane Convention Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The fight was stopped in the 11th round by referee Benjy Esteves due to the 27-year-old Corcoran’s left eye having been cut badly. This was a fun fight to watch. There wasn’t much talent on display, but Horn and Corcoran made it an interesting fight from start to finish.
