Golovkin: The PPV Flop

Image: Golovkin: The PPV Flop

By Angel Flowers: This past weekend the number one middleweight Gennady “GGG” Golovkin fought who many regard as the number #2 middleweight in Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs. This was a fight that Golovkin wanted to price himself out of by not giving Jacobs what was fair. Golovkin argued that he was the “A” side of the fight and Jacobs should be happy with whatever he was given. I can understand this way of thinking, after all who exactly is Daniel Jacobs? Jacobs has only beaten Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin who himself is questionable.

Image: Why Golovkin does NOT have to face Jacobs Again

By Justin Graham: Gennady “GGG” Golovkin has gone from being a relatively unknown former Olympic silver medalist from Kazakhstan in 2012 to one of boxing’s biggest stars and top pound-for-pound fighters in just a few years. However, for Golovkin, like most foreign fighters that come to America, there will always be the group of fans, mostly casual boxing fans, who will seemingly never give him his due credit for anything. Image: De La Hoya: Golovkin’s chances for Canelo fight decreased after Jacobs match

By Allan Fox: Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya says middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) didn’t help his chances of making the fight his top guy Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) after his narrow 12 round unanimous decision win over Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) last Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York. De La Hoya still wants to make the Canelo-Golovkin fight but he feels that Golovkin’s promoters at K2 will need to give in to Canelo in the negotiations for the fight to get made. De La Hoya says that Canelo is the proven A-side in the negotiations. The Canelo-Golovkin negotiations will be resuming this week for their proposed fight in September on HBO PPV.
