Vincent Feigenbutz vs. Giovanni De Carolis on January 9th

feigenbutz11By Scott Gilfoid: Interim WBA World super middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz (21-1, 19 KOs) will be defending his title against #14 WBA Giovanni De Carolis (23-6, 11 KOs) in a rematch in two weeks from now on January 9th at the Baden-Arena, in Offenburg, Germany.

Feigenbutz, 20, previously defeated Italy’s De Carolina by a 12 round unanimous decision last October by the scores of 115-113, 114-113, and 115-113. However, there was so much controversy surrounding the outcome of the fight that the two fighters will have to do it again.

Hopefully this will be the last time they have to face each other. De Carolis, 31, knocked Feigenbutz down in the 1st round of their fight last October. De Carolina controlled the early rounds of the fight, but Feigenbutz definitely came on in the second half of the contest to get the better of De Carolis.

Weights: Feigenbutz 165.8, De Carolis 167.8

feigenbutz11By Scott Gilfoid: Earlier today, WBA 168lb champion Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) made weight for his title defense against Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs) for their fight at the dm-Arena in Karlshrue, Germany. The 20-year-old Feigenbutz weighed in at 165.8 pounds. His opponent #13 WBA De Carolis came in at 167.8lbs.

Feigenbutz needs a win in this fight for him to get the winner of the Felix Sturm vs. Fedor Chudinov fight for the WBA “regular” super middleweight title. Feigenbutz will need to earn his title shot the hard way by going through the 31-year-old De Carolis. However, it could be worse for Feigenbutz.

Vincent Feigenbutz battles Giovanni De Carolis on 10/17

feigenbutzBy Scott Gilfoid: Once beaten WBA interim 168lb champion Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) will be defending his title next month against #11 IBF contender Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs) in a 12 round fight at the Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

It’s a decent but hardly great fight for the 20-year-old Feigenbutz. He was hoping to get a title shot against WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov, but he’s currently busy facing #4 WBA Frank Buglioni in a little over a week from now on September 26th at the Wembley Arena in London, England.

Arthur Abraham vs. Giovanni De Carolis this Saturday in Germany

abraham445By Allan Fox: Former two division world champion Arthur Abraham (37-4, 28 KO’s) will be returning to the ring this Saturday night against #13 IBF Giovanni De Carolis (20-4, 10 KO’s) in title defense of Abraham’s WBO Inter-Continental super middleweight title at the EWE-Arena, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany. Abraham, #1 WBO, is using this fight as tune-up of sorts to get him ready for his third fight against WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz in early 2014.

Stieglitz has done his part to make the Abraham third fight by taking two easy fights against Yuzo Kiyota and Isaac Ekpo, beating both of them quite easily. For his part, Abraham almost blew it in what was supposed to be an easy fight for him against Whlbeforce Shihepo last August. Abraham barely won the fight by a 12 round unanimous decision.
