Tyron Zeuge vs. Giovanni De Carolis – Official weights

zeuge

By Allan Fox: WBA World super middleweight champion Giovanni De Carolis (24-6-1, 12 KOs) successfully made weight on Friday in weighing in at 166.7 pounds for his rematch against #6 WBA Tyron Zeuge (18-0-1, 10 KOs) for their rematch this Saturday night at the MBS Arena in Potsdam, Germany. The 24-year-old Zeuge weighed in at 167.6lbs.

Zeuge is lucky to be getting a rematch at all, because he appeared to lose to the 32-year-old De Carolis last July in their fight in Berlin, Germany. The German Zeuge was quite lucky to be given a draw in the fight, because he was out-punched the entire fight by the 6-foot Italian De Carolis.

Weights: Abraham vs. Lihaug & De Carolis vs. Zeuge

1-abraham

By Jeff Aranow: Former two division world champion Arthur Abraham (44-5, 28 KOs) weighed in at 168 pounds for his 12 round fight against #15 WBO Tim-Robin Lihaug (15-1, 8 KOs) for their fight on Saturday night at the Max-Schmeling-Halle, in Berlin, Germany. The 23-year-old Lihaug weighed in at 167.6lbs.

This is supposed to be a mismatch, but it’s hard to tell for sure because Abraham is starting to get long in the tooth at 36. Abraham was easily beaten in his last fight against Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez last April in a losing a 12 round unanimous decision. Ramirez, 24, is a good fighter, but he’s not as good as he looked in that fight.

Feigenbutz vs. De Carolis: Should the fight results be overturned?

feigenbutz7By Scott Gilfoid: If you watched last Saturday’s fight between interim WBA super middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz (21-2, 19 KOs) and #14 WBA Giovanni De Carolis (24-6, 12 KOs), you will have noticed that the final fight sequence was marred by De Carolis nailing Feigenbutz with a right hand to the back of his head and badly hurting him.

The shot badly hurt Feigenbutz, causing him to stagger forward and turn his back on De Carolis. At this point, De Carolis tagged Feigenbutz with another big punch to the back of the head that sent him staggering into the ropes. De Carolis then bombarded Feigenbutz with a small flurry of unanswered punches until referee Gustavo Padilla stopped the fight at 0:32 of the 11th round in their fight at the Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany.

De Carolis TKOs Feigenbutz in 11th!

feigenbutz333By Scott Gilfoid: Well, just as I suspected would happen; #14 WBA fringe contender Giovanni De Carolis (24-6, 12 KOs) stopped the incredibly green 20-year-old interim WBA super middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz (21-2, 19 KOs) in a 11th round TKO on Saturday night in their clash at the Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany.

De Carolis, 31, staggered Feigenbutz in the 11th round, and then unloaded on him until referee Gustavo Padilla stepped in and halted the fight at 0:32 of the round.

The first half of the fight was controlled by De Carolis, who was able to use his superior size to blast away at a frightened looking Feigenbutz with right hands. Feigenbutz looked both afraid and totally clueless. He just wouldn’t throw any punches and had a confused look on his face like he didn’t know how to solve De Carolis’ simple fighting style.

Feigenbutz wants to impress against De Carolis

feigenbutzBy Scott Gilfoid: Interim WBA super middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz (21-1, 19 KOs) will be looking to leave no doubts about his superior talent this Saturday night on January 9th against #14 WBA fringe contender Giovanni De Carolis (23-6, 11 KOs) at the Baden-Arena in Offenburg, Germany.

It’s a downer that the 20-year-old Feigenbutz is having to fight De Carolis again period, because he already beat him last October in Germany, but De Carolis and many of his loyal boxing fans bellyached about the decision and this led to a rematch.

Feigenbutz beat De Carolis by the scores of 115-113, 114-113 and 115-113. I was good with the 115-113 score, as Feigenbutz clearly demonstrated that he was the better fighter of the two in the second half of the contest.
