By Allan Fox Angel Garcia, the father of WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s) wasn’t in the mood to show former two division world champion Zab Judah (42-3, 29 KO’s) any respect during their press conference this past week to promote the Garcia-Judah fight on February 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
When it came time for Angel Garcia to speak his thoughts on the fight at the podium in front of the press, Angel said “Every time he [Judah] stepped up he lost. So what is the point? He didn’t win when he fought Kostya Tszyu; that was his prime. He got clipped. That’s okay. That was his era, that was his time. This is a new era. We might be in Brooklyn. I feel for you all. It’s about Philly right now. Zab goes out in four. That’s a four round fight, he knows that. [Vernon] Paris. We used him for sparring. Danny knocked him down with the first punch. It took Zab 9 rounds to beat Paris.”
