Eduard Troyanovsky vs. Julius Indongo – Results

troyanovsky

By Jeff Aranow: In a shocking fight, #15 WBA fringe contender Julius Indongo (21-0, 11 KOs) pulled off a major upset in stopping previously unbeaten 36-year-old IBF World light welterweight champion Eduard Troyanovsky (25-1, 22 KOs) in the 1st round on Saturday night to capture his IBF 140lb title at the Khodynka Ice Palace, in Moscow, Russia.

The lanky 5’10” southpaw Indongo nailed Troyanovsky with a scorching left hand to the jaw in the 1st round that sent the Russian fighter down flaw on his back. Troyanovsky was badly hurt from the shot and didn’t even try to get up. Referee Mark Calo-Oy immediately stepped in and halted the fight with Troyanovsky still down on the canvas and in need of assistance. They eventually got Troyanovsky back to his feet and took him out of the ring, but he looked in bad shape.

Crawford versus Troyanovsky; No More Ducking

crawford754

By Jaime Ortega: Terrence Crawford will defend his belts against contender John Molina. The fight is set for December 10, but no one has signed any deals yet. The fight holds little meaning to Crawford’s highly superior technical ability, who will easily defeat Molina on a one sided match-up.

Crawford’s camp has shown reluctance to announce a much riskier fight – one that would outmatch any other fight on the Junior Welterweight division. That is against the IBF and IBO champion, Eduard Troyanovsky, an undefeated Russian who doesn’t fear any welterweight.

Crawford vs. Troyanovsky: IBF, IBO, WBO, WBC undisputed

1-crawford (3)

By Jaime Ortega: As I predicted and it came to pass, Terrence Crawford absolutely dominated and destroyed Viktor ‘overhyped’ Postol with relative ease. Postol became a hyped superstar from the ashes of Lucas Mathysse, who after many battles looked like the oil-less robot of the Wizard of Oz. Postol’s only reliable weapon is his jab, and his eight week training at Wildcard gym under Freddy Roach was not going upgrade his average skillset. Crawford vs Postol was a disappointing battle, and those who over hyped Postol as the next big star were rightly put on their place.

However, in the 140 division the biggest challenge for Crawford is not the one dimensional Ukrainian, but the omni-directional Russian Eduard Troyanovsky who is 24-0, 21 knockouts.

Crawford vs. Postol: Not the best fight at 140

YouTube video

By Jaime Ortega: A few boxing fans have called Viktor Postol versus Terrence Crawford the fight of the year and the best fight currently lining the 140 division. Some even claim that the winner of the two should be crowned the best pound for pound, which in essence seems utterly ridiculous –neither claim holds truth –so rest assure the winner of Sergey Kovalev versus Andre Ward will be crowned best pound for pound boxer in the world.
