Who the heck is Dillian Whyte?

whyteBy Gav Duthie: Seemingly out of nowhere a pantomime villain has appeared in the middle of the Anthony Joshua story claiming he is going to knock him out. Enter Dillan ‘The Villain’ Whyte 13-0 (10) fresh off a victory over big punching Brazilian whipping boy Marcelo Nascimento. Whyte has fought 4 times since November 2014 winning all by knockout and is saying he is ready for Joshua now. 

Amateur and MMA

To add to the story as earlier reported on Boxingnews24 Whyte boasts an amateur win over Joshua in 2009 which included a knockdown. This was one of only 6 amateur bouts recorded that he had of which he was undefeated. To prove he was born to fight he even had a MMA bout which he won in 12 seconds.

Dillian Whyte: Anthony Joshua knows I carry the power to KO him

joshua7By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated heavyweight prospect Dillian Whyte (13-0, 10 KOs) says he’s take a fight against unbeaten #7 WBC Anthony Joshua (10-0, 10 KOs) any day of the week if the fight were offered to him. Whyte defeated Joshua in the amateur ranks and knocked him on his backside after nailing him with a left hook followed by a right hand to the head.

Whyte says he doesn’t want to chase a fight against Joshua, who has been matched non-punchers since he turned pro after winning a controversial gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics that year.

Dillian Whyte stops Marcelo Luiz Nascimento in 2nd round KO!

whyte3By Scott Gilfoid: Former Anthony Joshua conqueror, heavyweight prospect Dillian “The Villain” Whyte (13-0, 10 KOs) made extremely short work of Brazilian knockout artist Marcelo Luiz Nascimento (17-8, 15 KOs) on Saturday night in stopping the 34-year-old fighter in the 2nd round of a scheduled 8 round bout at the Camden Centre, Kings Cross, in London, UK.

While Nascimento has been stopped early before during his career, he’s never been stopped as quickly as the 26-year-old Whyte did to him last night.
