By Dan Ambrose: Manny Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee told philstar.com “He wants Cotto.” I don’t know how much weight Jinkee has when it comes to having inside information about Pacquiao’s next opponent, but that sure does make sense because Cotto fits all the criteria that Pacquiao’s promoter likes in an opponent: A. Cotto fights for Top Rank on a fight by fight basis. B. He’s a big PPV attraction. C. He’s no threat to beat Pacquiao; D. He has a big fan base.

Arum says that he’ll look at putting together Cotto-Pacquiao II next year – News
By Jason Kim: You may not be too eager to see a rematch between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao, but that’s likely what you’ll be seeing next year. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, who promotes both Cotto and Pacquiao, said that he’ll look to put them together depending on how Cotto does in his next fight.
Will Cotto-Pacquiao II do as well on PPV as last time?
By Jason Kim: Given how one-sided their fight was last year in November, it seems almost ridiculous that Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao are being matched up against each other again so soon. It’s only been eight since Cotto and Pacquiao have fought, and yet it’s looking more and more like Cotto and Pacquiao will be going at it again in what will likely be as one-sided a fight as the first time. Pacquiao dominated early and often, knocking Cotto around the ring, reddening his face and doing anything he wanted to in the ring. However, the bout did well on pay-per-view, producing 1.25 million buys.
Will Pacquiao make Cotto fight at another catch weight?
By Dave Lahr: I’m not even thinking about the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight happening. I know it won’t. I see Bob Arum matching Pacquiao up against his plan B option, WBA light middleweight champion Miguel Cotto for a needless rematch. I see this fight taking place with another one of those god awful catch weights being involved, so that Pacquiao will have a handicap as he goes for his 8th world title. Last time Pacquiao fought Cotto, he had a similar handicap in going for Cotto’s WBO welterweight title.
