Avalos, 27, weighed in at 126 lbs.

Valdez destroys Avalos; Jesse Hart stops Aaron Pryor Jr

hartBy Jim Dower: Undefeated #3 WBO, #12 IBF, #13 WBA super middleweight contender Jesse Hart (18-0, 15 KOs) battered and beat journeyman Aaron Pryor Jr (19-9-1, 12 KOs) in stopping him in the 9th round on Friday night to retain his USBA and WBO NABO super middleweight titles at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The 26-year-old Hart was landing at will in the 9th round causing referee Tony Weeks to step in and halt the fight at 2:51 of the round. Pryor Jr. wasn’t throwing any punches back which is why Weeks stopped the contest.

Frampton stops Avalos in 5th!

frampton44By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton (20-0, 14 KOs) retained his IBF title tonight with a 5th round TKO victory over #1 IBF Chris Avalos (25-3, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

Frampton hurt the 25-year-old Avalos with a right hand in the 5th. Frampton then flurried on Avalos until referee Howard John Foster stopped the bout with Avalos still on his feet trying to fight back at 1:33 of the round. Before the stoppage, Frampton threw Avalos to the canvas when he attempted to clinch him.

With the fight taking place in Frampton’s home city and country, it’s going to put pressure on him to fight a little more aggressively than he’s shown recently in his two fights against Kiko Martinez.
