By John F. McKenna (McJack): IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24 KO’s) fresh off Saturday nights impressive win over “The Road Warrior” Glen Johnson (51-16-2, 35 KO’s) has turned his sights south of the Canadian border for his next fight. Bute won virtually every round in his one sided victory over the cagey Johnson. It was Lucian’s 9th defense of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) crown he won on October 19, 2007 when he scored a TKO win over Alejandro Berrio.

Lucian you BU-TE: Johnson looks his age as Bute dominates to victory
By Gari Jones: Photo credit: Casino/Showtime – Despite going the distance it was always going to be tough for Glen Johnson to try and beat the undefeated International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Bute. Glen Johnson (W51, L16, D2, KO 35) who looked every bit his forty two (42) years of age, was totally outclassed by the much younger thirty one (31) year old Lucian Bute (W30, L0, D0, KO24). When the final bell rang the result was clear, Bute had dominated the fight from start to finish and the scorecards reflected that, two of the judges scored the fight 120-108 and one scored it 119-109.

Johnson has tough task tonight against Bute
By Dan Ambrose: Photo credit: Casino/Showtime – 42-year-old Glen Johnson (51-15-2, 35 KO’s) is the underdog tonight in his fight against International Boxing Federation (IBF) super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (29-0, 24 KO’s) at the Pepsi Coliseum, in Quebec, Canada in a fight that will be aired on Showtime in the U.S. Johnson isn’t quick on his feet at this age, and he’ll need to be to get a win over the younger 31-year-old Bute.
The fight is taking place in Canada, which means that Johnson’s chance of winning a decision is pretty much nil. If he’s going to win it’s going to have to be by knockout. It’s possible for Johnson to get a KO, since it’s already been shown that Bute has a questionable chin in his past fights. However, for Johnson to get to Bute’s chin, he’s going to have to put a lot of pressure on Bute and use quick feet to cut off the ring.
