Brook-Chaves will be tough sell on Sky Box Office PPV minus Klitschko-Fury

hearnBy Scott Gilfoid: Promoter Eddie Hearn got some really bad news today with IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko postponing his fight against Tyson Fury because of a calf injury. This means that without the Klitschko-Fury fight, the Kell Brook vs. Diego Chaves fight will be the headliner fight on Sky Box Office on October 24th from the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, UK. If Hearn discounts the fight 95% by charging only 5% for the Brook-Chaves fight card, then I think it might be worth it to purchase it along with the other mismatches on the card. But no way do I see it worth the whole price now that Fury-Klitschko is off the card.

Brook will fight Bradley in summer 2016, says Hearn

brook67By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is looking past Brook’s next fight against #4 IBF Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) towards a unification fight between Brook and WBO welterweight champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) that Hearn wants to schedule in the summer of 2016.

Hearn seems to be very confident that he can make the Brook vs. Bradley fight. Brook barely beat Shawn Porter using nonstop clinching last year in their fight in June 2014.

Diego Chaves is a dangerous fight for Kell Brook, says Bradley

brook3By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) had better get his clinching skills ready because he could be in for a real tough fight next month when he faces the hard hitting Argentinian Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) in a 12 round affair on October 24th on Sky Box Office from the Sheffield Arena, in Sheffield, UK.

American WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley thinks that Brook could be in for a really grueling fight when he gets inside the ring with Chaves and he sees this fight as one that could be a lot tougher than Brook expects it to be.

Kell Brook: I can go past Mayweather’s 49-0 record

brook67By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KO) says he wants to go after Floyd Mayweather Jr’s 49-0 record and surpass it by going 50-0 or better before he’s done with his career. With his passed record of mostly fluff opponents, the 29-year-old Brook is only 14 wins away from equaling Mayweather’s 49-0 record.

With the way that Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is matching him, I think it’s quite possible for Brook to equal and break the record. It’s not as if Brook is being matched up against quality opposition.

Brook: Mayweather is playing it safe with Berto fight

Image: Brook: Mayweather is playing it safe with Berto fightBy Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell “The Special One” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) is under the belief that WBA/WBC 147lb champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) is taking a safe fight by facing former IBF/WBC 147lb champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) in their fight on Showtime pay-per-view this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brook, 29, says he would have liked to have been the one facing Mayweather in this fight instead of the 31-year-old Berto.

Diego Chaves: I will be making history if I defeat an Englishman in his own country

chaves33333By Scott Gilfoid: #4 IBF Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) says he wants to make history when he faces undefeated and untested IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) on October 24th at the Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, UK. Chaves sees himself making history by being an Argentinean and coming into England an beating and English fighter in front of his own fans.

Chaves had better be looking to score a knockout because he is the visiting fighter, and he’s coming into Brook’s home turf. We saw how Brook won a controversial 12 round majority decision over American Carson Jones three years ago in 2012 in Sheffield.

Kell Brook to fight Diego Chaves on October 24th in Sheffield

chaves444By Scott Gilfoid: Well, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) isn’t getting the big name that he was hoping to get for his next fight, but he at least will be fighting an actual contender with a shred of talent for a change when he faces #4 IBF, #9 WBA Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) on October 24th in Sheffield, UK.

Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is expected to make the announcement of the Brook-Chaves fight this week.

Hearn and Brook had been hoping to get the better known Brandon Rios for the fight, but they failed to agree on the money and the rematch clause for the fight. However, Chaves is a better fighter than Rios in my opinion.
