Broner: Porter can’t beat me, it’s not going to happen

_DSC8672(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) By Dan Ambrose: Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) doesn’t think he has any chance of losing this Saturday night in his 144lb catch-weight fight against Shawn Porter (25-1-1, 16 KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Broner doesn’t see himself as the next Floyd Mayweather Jr, but rather the first Adrien Broner.

It’s unclear where Broner is going with that. It’s definitely true that Broner isn’t going to be the next Mayweather, but he try his best to be the best possible fighter that he can be. We’ve got a glimpse of Broner’s limits as a fighter two years ago when he was beaten by Marcos Maidana by a 12 round decision.

_DSC7359(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) By Dan Ambrose: The winner of this Saturday’s match-up between Shawn Porter (25-1-1, 16 KOs) and Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) has the potential of getting picked out for a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 12th. Broner has said in the past that he would never fight his big brother Mayweather, but he’s since changed his mind and is now open to the fight if it’s offered to him.

There’s no telling what will happen this Saturday night their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you take away the 144 pound catch-weight and the 154 pound rehydration limit, Porter would have a very good chance of beating Broner.

Porter: People say if I can beat Broner, I can beat Mayweather due to their similarities

1-_MG_7743By Dan Ambrose: Former IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (25-1-1, 16 KOs) says that people are saying that if he defeats the Mayweather-esque Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) in their fight on June 20th, it means that he’ll also be able to defeat unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. due to Broner and Mayweather having a similar fighting style.

Broner has purposefully patterned his fighting style after Mayweather, although he’s not nearly as fast or as accurate as Mayweather. Broner also isn’t nearly as mobile or as good a defensive fighter. Other than that, Broner does have a similar fighting style as Mayweather.
