Bradley thinks Pacquiao won’t want to engage with him

bradley21214By Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) thinks Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) has lost his nerve since being knocked cold by Juan Manuel Marquez in December 2012. That stoppage loss seems to have taken something out of Pacquiao’s confidence in his ability to take a hard shot, Bradley believes. As it is, Bradley feels that Pacquiao was afraid to get hit by him in their fight in June of 2012. But now that Pacquiao has been stopped by Marquez, Bradley thinks Pacquiao will be even more gun-shy and afraid to throw his shots for fear he’ll get hit with something.

“I think that he might not want to engage to much with me,” Bradley said to Fighthype. “He was real defensive for some reason…This time around, I don’t think he’s gonna engage that much. He got hurt, he admitted that [Brandon] Rios hurt him with a shot.”

Arum finishing contract terms with Bradley; Pacquiao already on board

arum3242By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao has already agreed to the contract terms for his rematch against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley on April 12th, and now the only thing that needs to get done is getting Bradley to accept the terms to his contract, says Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

Getting Pacquiao to agree to the terms was obviously the easier part because that’s the main focus for the fight. Bradley is the B-side and will be taking the smaller money, although getting him to agree to the contract hasn’t been easy due to him wanting a pay raise over the last time they fought in 2012.

Merchant thinks Bradley win over Pacquiao could lead to Mayweather bout

bradley14By Chris Williams: Former HBO analyst Larry Merchant thinks WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley could put himself in position for a big fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. if he can beat Manny Pacquiao for a second time on April 12th. Merchant thinks there would be a lot of pressure to make a Mayweather vs. Bradley fight if beats the 35-year-old Pacquiao.

For some reason Merchant seems to think that Mayweather would be more willing to negotiate with Bob Arum of Top Rank if Bradley beat Pacquiao. I don’t know why Mayweather would. If Mayweather’s not interested in ever dealing with the 82-year-old Arum again, why would he change his mind just because Bradley beat Pacquiao in a rematch by moving around the ring all night, playing hit and run?

Manny Pacquiao wants revenge against Bradley

pac453By Mark Havey: It wasn’t too long ago that the world witnessed the Filipino legend tear his way through numerous weight divisions. Along the way he accumulated many belts and big name scalps on his record. However, times catches up with us all. Manny Pacquiao was eventually knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez. Fans and writers predicted the end of a great champion.

If Pacquiao beats Bradley, fans will want Mayweather next, says Roger

pac562By Chris Williams: Roger Mayweather believes that Manny Pacquiao has a real chance at creating a huge drumbeat for a bout against his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr. if Pacquiao faces WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley next and proves that he can beat him this time. Roger thinks that a win for Pacquiao over Bradley will result in a huge amount of fan excitement about a potential mega fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Roger is only guessing, of course. Fans might not be excited as much as he thinks, and it could go really bad if Pacquiao gets beaten again by Bradley. Pacquiao lost a 12 round split decision to Bradley last year in June in a fight that could have gone either way. Neither fighter looked good, and if you think Pacquiao shined in that fight, you’re kidding yourself. He seemed capable of fighting only one minute of every three minute round.

Tim Bradley: I received death threats after I beat Pacquiao!

bradley2342By Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (29-0 12 KO’s) was blown away after he beat boxing icon Manny Pacquiao last year in June by a 12 round split decision in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead of being greeted with a positive reaction from boxing fans, Bradley says he got very little in the way of praise for his accomplishment, and he was even received death threats from angry fans after he unseated the Filipino from his WBO 147 lb. strap.

Bradley said to USA Today “I didn’t get any credit after the Pacquiao fight whatsoever. People talked about me and my style, how boring [it is]. I’ve had some people send me death threats because I won. I had a lot of people say I should give the belt back.”

Bradley: Pacquiao didn’t want any part of me

Image: Bradley: Pacquiao didn't want any part of meBy Chris Williams: A rejected WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (29-0, 12 KO’s) wasn’t happy at learning that the Filipino Manny Pacquiao will be facing Juan Manuel Marquez in a rematch on December 8th in Las Vegas instead of fighting him again to try and avenge his loss to Bradley from last June.

Bradley said to Mydesert.com “I can’t believe these guys. He [Pacquiao] didn’t want any part of me. Marquez is an easier fight. He knows that a fight with me and two good legs is going to be hell. I can’t believe it. Any champion who lost his belt, you would want to redeem yourself.”

Bradley still not popular despite beating Pacquiao

Image: Bradley still not popular despite beating PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: I’ve seen more than a few Manny Pacquiao fans talk about how Pacquiao has the Midas touch on his opponents to where they turn golden and become popular fighters once they get a fight with Pacquiao. If that’s the case then why isn’t WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley hugely popular after he completely schooled Pacquiao last June? What happened? The last time I checked, Bradley is still pretty much the same anonymous fighter that he was before he fought the Filipino.
