By Chris Williams: A rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KO’s) and WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) is in the works for 2014, according to Marquez’s adviser Fernando Beltran. Marquez lost a 12 round split decision to Bradley last month in Las Vegas, Nevada in a fight where Bradley used constant movement to keep from getting hit by the 40-year-old Marquez.
Bradley is expected to be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent for April of 2014, so it’s difficult to tell how a loss for Bradley would impact a potential Marquez rematch. It could be that Marquez will lose interest in facing Bradley if Pacquiao defeats him because his record will no longer be unbeaten and there won’t be as much praise for Marquez if he beats him after that.
