By Jim Dower: In a battle of fringe level heavyweights, 44-year-old Amir Mansour (23-3-1, 16 KOs) beat Travis Kauffmann (31-2, 23 KOs) by a 12 majority decision on Friday night to capture the USBA heavyweight title at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. The fight was televised on Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV.

In a 12-round heavyweight war that lived up to the hype, Amir Mansour (23-2-1, 16 KOs) was able to take a majority decision (114-114, 117-111, 115-113) over Travis Kauffman (31-2, 23 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce from Santander Arena in Reading, PA.

In round two, Kauffman buckled Mansour with a hard right on the inside. The two fighters started round four with bad intentions as they each landed hard shots on the inside. Kauffman switched back and forth between orthodox and southpaw stances in an attempt to befuddle the southpaw Mansour.

Mansour suffered jaw injury in loss to Breazeale

mansour1003By Allan Fox: 43-year-old Amir Mansour (22-2-1, 16 KOs) reportedly suffered a jaw injury last Saturday night in his 5th round stoppage loss to 2012 U.S Olympian heavyweight Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale (17-0, 15 KOs) on the undercard of the Danny Garcia vs. Robert Guerrero fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Fox from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Mansour was fighting with mouth open the entire fight, and he finally paid for it in the 5th, when he took a right hand to the left side of his jaw that caused the injury. Mansour reportedly bit through his tongue as well.
