By Jim Dower: After suffering a disappointing 12 round unanimous decision defeat to Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KO’s) in his stage 3 Super Six tournament bout last Saturday night in Helsinki, Finland, former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-2, 25 KO’s) admitted in an interview with the Bild.de, that he may be too small for the super middleweight division.

By Scott Gilfoid: I just want to start off by saying how bad Arthur Abraham (31-2, 25 KO’s) now looks after the beating he took against Andre Dirrell last March. He’s not the same fighter, and I think he was on the way down hill even before that fight. But Carl Froch (27-1, 20 Ko’s) was able to take advantage of what was there and pound out a fairly easy 12 round unanimous decision. The judges scored it 119-109, 120-108 and 120-108, all for Froch. I’m in agreement more or less with those scores. I do think Froch should have been penalized multiple times for low blows and a series of rabbit punches he threw. I wouldn’t argue against Froch being disqualified for his many fouls in this fight.
Abraham looking strong at weigh-in, Froch looks scared

I’ve never seen Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) look better than he did today at the weigh-in for his fight tomorrow night against Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. 168 really suits Abraham, because he looks strong at this weight and doesn’t have to boil down and sacrifice muscle to make 160 like he used to have to do while fighting at middleweight. Abraham weighed a muscular looking 168 pounds at today’s weigh-in.
Froch thinks his speed will be the key to beating Abraham
By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) for some reason thinks his speed will be the key to him beating Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) on Saturday night in their Super Six tournament fight at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. Froch has got to be one of the slowest fighters in the super middleweight division in terms of hand speed. I’m not even talking about the Super Six fighters, because Froch is clearly slower than all of them, including 41-year-old Glen Johnson. This is why it seems so odd that Froch would look at his hand speed as a key for him to beat Abraham. He doesn’t have any, so Froch should be praying he can somehow knock Abraham out or maybe outwork him in this fight.

Speaking with Sky Sports News, Abraham said “Froch has insulted my promoter, my team and me. I will punish him for that on Saturday. It will be a great fight between two warriors. I cannot wait to get my hands on him and make him pay for all the rubbish he has said in the press.”

By Scott Gilfoid: Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) seems to be convinced that his upcoming November 27th Super Six tourney fight with Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) is going to be an exciting affair for boxing fans to witness, but I’m not so sure about that. The two fighters are mixing it up in Finland two weeks from now, and both of them are coming off of terrible performances in defeats in their last Super Six tournament fights. Froch hasn’t looked good in any of his two Super Six tournament fights, and neither of them I would describe as coming close to being exciting affairs. And Abraham did almost nothing in his first fight of the tournament against Jermain Taylor until knocking him out in the 12th with a right hand.

By Scott Gilfoid: For a fighter that recently got handled in his last fight by Mikkel Kessler, former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) isn’t lacking for courage as he goes into his fight next month against former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki , Finland. In an interview at eastsideboxing.com, Froch says “You know Arthur Abraham can’t beat me. Really, he can’t beat me. Obviously, it’s boxing and the guy can punch, but I need to stay focused to execute my game plan. As long as I do that right, it should be an easy night’s work.”

By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) was sounding off about his next Super Six tournament opponent the hard hitting Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s), making fun of the crown that Abraham wears and promising him a beating in their fight on November 27th at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. Froch, as of yet, hasn’t faced a huge puncher like Abraham and it’s going to be fun to see what Abraham can do against Froch’s low guard. The talented Andre Dirrell was able to stagger Froch with repeated left hands to the head in his fight with him last year in October.
