Haye: Price would KO Fury

price3By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye sees British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price as being the better fighter compared to Tyson Fury, and he’s not sure how good Fury really is after seeing him struggle against John McDermott in the past. Haye believes Price would knock Fury out if they were to fight right now.

Haye said to the Manchester Evenings News “I think David Price is No 1, ahead of Tyson Fury. The way he handled him comfortably in the amateurs…The fact that Fury relinquished his titles rather than fight Price shows what the pecking order is…I think Price would stop him.”

Wilder needs to stop calling out Fury and slowly work his way up the rankings like everyone else

wilder52By Thomas Cowan: Tyson Fury has come in for a lot of criticism recently for the class of the opponents he’s been fighting. This is very fair criticism. The opponents that Fury has faced aren’t good enough for him to be talking about fighting one of the Klitschko brothers. It has been suggested that Fury should test himself by facing American prospect Deontay Wilder who called Fury out last year. This idea is hypocrisy in it’s most hilarious state.

If Fury wanted to improve the quality of fighters he’s been facing, why would he want to fight a guy who is wasting his career knocking out guys ranked outside the top 200. The only fighter Wilder has faced who’s managed to work their way to a world title shot is Jamaican Owen Beck. Beck fought Russian giant Nikolay Valuev in 2006 and was brutally knocked out in the 3rd round. Beck’s career in freefall since then and was coming off 7 straight losses when he faced Wilder, including a loss to debutant Sergey Rozhnov. I’m not even going to bother talking about Wilder’s other opponents because it would just be a waste of everyone’s time.

Tyson Fury to fight on April 20th in New York

fury4345By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) says he’ll be fighting in the United States on April 20th in New York against an opponent still to be determined. Sky Sports reports that the recently beaten former IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham (25-5, 12 KO’s) is the likely opponent the 24-year-old Fury will be facing in this fight.

That sounds about right. Cunningham has lost three out of his last four fights and only weighs a little over 200 pounds. What a great choice, Fury.

Fury said on his twitter “I will be in New York April 20 to show America what they have been missing. Unleash the Fury! Coming to America.”

Deontay Wilder doesn’t learn as he keeps talking about Fury and Price

wilder2By Dominic Sauboorah: I actually am getting a kick out of heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder slating off the more proven prospects Tyson Fury and David Price, both of whom are on the cusp of a world title shot, whilst Wilder is still fighting the likes of Matt Greer. The guy is so idiotic it somewhat irritates me.

Wilder stated how his jab is more powerful than Fury and Price’s normal punches. I’m sorry but how stupid do you want to get? I do think Wilder has the power to trouble most heavyweights in the world, but power doesn’t dictate everything in this sport which is something that Wilder really needs to become aware of.

Fury to Wladimir: If you fight Solis then you’re a P***y! Fight me!

fury5445By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like British heavyweight Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) is up in arms at the thought that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 50 KO’s) may pass him over on April 6th and instead fight former 2004 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KO’s) instead. #4 WBC Fury feels it should be him that gets the crack at Wladimir on May 6th, and not the #11 IBF Solis.

Fury said on his twitter “Klitschko, if you fight Solis you’re a p***y! Fight me! Solis is a fat S***. [He] got KO’d by Vitali in 2.”

Here’s the deal, Fury. It’s not about how badly you want the fight or how much higher you’re ranked than the talented Solis. It’s about putting backsides in the seats in Germany. Wladimir wants to sell out a stadium in Germany, and he probably won’t be able to do that if he chooses you because you’re just not well known in Germany like Solis is, get it? The fact of the matter is Solis has already fought in Germany 10 times during his pro career and the German fans love him to death.

Wilder: I jab harder than Tyson Fury and David Price can punch

wilder3By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder (26-0, 26 KO’s) hasn’t been too impressed with what he’s seen of the unbeaten British heavyweights Tyson Fury and David Price. Wilder doesn’t rate their power as being anything close to his own. In fact, Wilder believes his jab is stronger than Fury and Price’s best right hand power.

Wilder notes that Price and Fury both have been fighting low level opposition like himself, but he says he’s been at least knocking all of his guys out within 4 rounds or less.

Wilder said to boxingbeatandrhymes “It’s plain and clear to see that I’m definitely a stronger fighter than all three of those guys [Price, Fury & Bryant Jennings]. I definitely feel like I’m faster.

Fury to Hennessy: Please make the Wladimir fight happen

fury7By Scott Gilfoid: With the news that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will be fighting on April 6th against a still to be determined opponent in Germany, unbeaten Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) is now hoping that his promoter Mick Hennessy can make this fight happen.

Fury said to Hennessy on his twitter today “Please make this happen.”

Gosh, it almost sounds like Fury is begging for the fight.

Fury’s band of followers quickly joined in, dreaming about how Fury would beat Wladimir if given the chance and this and that. It’s all such a dream.

First of all, Wladimir isn’t going to waste time fighting the 6’9” Fury because he’s not a big name in Germany, and there’s no interest in the fight over there. There’s no money in fighting a slapper like Fury.

Fury still hoping to beat Haye to Vitali bout

fury343By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) has shown zero interest in accepting a big money offer from promoter Frank Maloney to fight British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price despite the money being more than he’s ever gotten in the past. Fury is betting that he’ll be able to get ahead of David Haye for a fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in early 2013.

The chances of that happening are pretty slim. Actually, even Haye probably won’t get the fight either because Vitali may retire to devote more of his time to politics in Ukraine.

With a fight against Vitali not likely to happen, Fury could end up blowing his best chance of a money fight by choosing not to fight Price. What could happen is Fury may actually be forced to fight one of the top contenders in the division to get a shot at Vitali’s WBC strap, if he chooses to give it up.

Cain Velasquez to Tyson Fury: I’m not a boxer; you need to work your way up in UFC

By Scott Gilfoid: UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez finally got around to answering unbeaten heavyweight contender Tyson Fury’s challenge of a fight by telling him that if Fury wants to fight him he’ll have to become a UFC fighter and basically work his way up to get a title shot in the sport. In other words, Velasquez isn’t going to fight Fury in a boxing match and he’s not going to let an unskilled boxer fight him in an MMA fight.

Fury: I want Deontay Wilder, Jennings or Banks in the United States

wilder5By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) says he’s interested in facing American heavyweights Deontay Wilder, Bryant Jennings or Johnathon Banks soon in the United States. Fury, 24, doesn’t say when he plans on fighting one or all of them, only that he wants to fight one. It’s no secret that the talented knockout artist Wilder (26-0, 26 KO’s) tried calling Fury only last year but was only ignored. It kind of reminded me how Adrien Broner tried to get a fight with Ricky Burns and had no luck as well.

Wilder had this to say about Fury at Uk.fighthype.com, saying “I would like a fight with him [Fury] as soon as possible, but he’s a coward. He won’t fight anyone he knows he has a high chance of losing against.”
