Sky Sports must approve Klitschko-Fury for November 28th

fury684By Scott Gilfoid: The news that the Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko fight has been rescheduled for November 28th doesn’t mean much unless Sky Sports is able to approve the date for the fight.

Unless Sky Box Office has a date available for the Klitschko-Fury fight to go ahead on that date on their network, they might need to push it ahead to December, January or even February.

It all depends on what Sky Box Office has available. I know Fury is really excited about the fight with Klitschko being rescheduled, but that doesn’t mean anything.

Klitschko-Fury rescheduled for November 28th

furyBy Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s injured left calf is now healed enough for him to resume training for his title defense against the loudmouthed #1 WBO challenger Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs).

According to Fury, the Klitschko fight is now back on and scheduled for November 28th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. Whether it actually takes place on that date remains to be seen. I mean, we are talking about pretty much almost two entire months before the fight takes place.

Are the heavyweights destroying a great year of boxing?

wladimir588By Gav Duthie: As we approach the latter end of 2015 I can comfortably reflect that it has been a good solid year of boxing. As always there have been several fights that have slipped through the net but that is par for the course these days. That being said we have seen the conclusion of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao saga, the modern day Arturo Gatti – Mickey Ward slugfest in Lucas Matthyse and Ruslan Provodnikov, the return of Andre Ward, breakthrough years for Terence Crawford, Kell Brook and Keith Thurman as well as Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions bringing us fights like Danny Garcia v Lamont Peterson and Shawn Porter v Adrien Broner.

I feel though once again the top division needs to flourish for boxing to do so and in the heavyweights we have witnessed poor matchmaking, boring spectacles and disappointment throughout the year.

Klitschko’s jab and grab won’t work against Fury, says Peter F

fury6262By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight Tyson Fury’s trainer Peter Fury doesn’t think that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s usual jab and grab technique will work against the 6’9” Fury, when their fight takes place sometime in the future.

Peter says that Fury will be fighting in an unpredictable manner, and that it’s going to take more than Wladimir’s normal manner of fighting for him to get the victory against the British fighter. The Klitschko-Fury fight still needs to be rescheduled after Wladimir suffered a calf injury a week ago.

Does Wladimir Klitschko deserve to be #1 P4P?

wladimir53562By Gerardo Granados: I’m debunking writer Dan Rafael´s Wladimir Klitschko pound-for-pound number 1 spot claim. Days ago there was a fun argument battle on twitter between ESPN´s analysts Dan Rafael and Brian Campbell; about why Dan thinks Wladimir Klitschko should be number one on the ESPN pound for pound list, but just as Brian many agree that Roman Chocolatito Gonzalez is the righteous number one.

Others such as The Ring Magazine and Boxingnews24 also have Roman on the number one spot, but it seems like the savvy Dan Rafael might be overlooking Chocolatito´s talent and achievements.

Froch: Klitschko could be rattled

YouTube video

By Scott Gilfoid: Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch thinks that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko may have been rattled by British challenger Tyson Fury’s recent behavior last week in their London, England press conference, and Froch thinks that it’s possible that Klitschko’s subsequent left calf injury may be a move for him to regain control of the situation somehow.

Froch finds it rather odd that Wladimir’s past injuries, including this latest one, are injuries that are difficult to prove. Wladimir has postponed fights due to bicep and abdominal injuries, and now he’s got a calf muscle/tendon injury.

Tyson Fury wants October stay busy fight

fury52By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBC heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) is bellyaching about wanting to get a stay busy fight for October or November to keep him active until IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) eventually heals up enough for him to face Fury, whenever that is. Klitschko, 39, pulled out of his previously scheduled October 24th fight against Fury last week, saying that he had injured his left calf in training.

Fury thinks that the Klitschko fight won’t be rescheduled until possibly February 2016, because Sky Box Office doesn’t have a fight date for November.

fury567By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like we won’t be seeing the Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko fight for some time due to the 39-year-old Klitschko’s injured left calf injury. Fury is saying that he’s hearing that they might not be able to reschedule their title fight until next February.

Sky Box Office doesn’t have a date in November for the Klitschko-Fury fight to be rescheduled. Fury believes that the next available date will be February, which is four months away.

Fury laughs at Hearn’s offer to fight on Brook-Chaves card

hearn666By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn can forget all about heavyweight Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) fighting on the undercard of the Kell Brook vs. Diego Chaves fight card on October 24th on Sky Box Office.

Earlier today, Fury had a good laugh in the process of turning down Hearn’s offer of fighting in an eight rounder on the Brook-Chaves card. Fury said there is no way that he can take the offer, because he’s still under contract for the Wladimir Klitschko fight, and he has to wait until Wladimir’s injured left calf heals before he can fight. Fury can’t take any fights in between that fight.
