Tyson Fury: You saw 60% of my arsenal against Klitschko

fury444111By Tim Fletcher: Newly crowned IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) says he only revealed 60 percent of his entire arsenal tonight in edging Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) by a narrow 12 round unanimous decision to win his titles by the scores of 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111 at the ESPIRT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

“I put on a good boxing display tonight,” Fury said to IFL TV after his win over Klitschko. “I can do better than that. That’s not everything I’ve got. That was about 60 percent of what I have in my arsenal that I’ll display in my next fight. It will be a little bit more. No, not really. It was not a big upset. A big upset would be someone who never had a chance. Tyson Fury was always going to be the heavyweight champion of the World,” Fury said.

Deontay Wilder targeting Tyson Fury

1-WILDERvsMOLINA-06132015-4562By Scott Gilfoid: Now that Wladimr Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) has been dethroned, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KOs) smells blood in the water and wants to go after newly crowned IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) to take his four world titles before someone else beats him to it.

Wilder, 6’7”, now recognizes himself as the best of the heavyweight world champions now that Wladimir is a thing of the past. Wilder could very well be correct in viewing himself as the best in the heavyweight division, because Fury, 6’9”, certainly didn’t look that great tonight in squeaking out a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111 at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Vitali Klitschko: Wladimir will come back stronger!

wladimir#6By Scott Gilfoid: Wladimir Klitschko’s brother Vitali Klitschko was less than happy with him tonight in watching IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir (64-4, 53 KOs) lose his world titles to a very, very limited Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision in a fight televised by Sky Box Office.

Vitali kept questioning Wladimir in between rounds, saying “I don’t understand” why he wasn’t throwing punches. Vitali gave Fury some credit by saying he was a little bit better, which sadly was true. Fury was better, but not much better.

Fury beats Klitschko!

klitschko#4By Scott Bells: Undefeated Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) is now number one at heavyweight owning 3 of the 4 major belts after defeating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision tonight at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. While nobody could dispute the result or the scorecards, it was a poor fight to watch. The scores were 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111.

Immediately, people have stated how ‘shot’ Klitschko looked throughout the fight, which is true to some extent. However, that should not take away from the fact that Tyson Fury deserves alot of credit for devising and executing a game plan based around his strengths, namely in reach, height and speed.

Tyson Fury shocks the World

klitschko#3By Michael Byrne: We worried about the gloves. We worried about the canvas. We worried about the wrapping of the hands. But our worries were seemingly just a by-product of the mind-games between the Klitschko and Fury camps – after a ring-walk accompanied by a fantastic lighting show and a fully-furnished orchestra to play the Ukrainian national anthem, Michael Buffer made the announcements, and referee Tony Weeks gave his instructions, and the first bell sounded.

We were treated to the most entertaining heavyweight title fight in a very long time. Entertaining not due to its action, but due to IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitscko’s inability to deal with Tyson Fury in their fight at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. He couldn’t beat him to the jab, he couldn’t get past his feints, he couldn’t bully him in the clinch, and he couldn’t land his power punches. Fury did a masterful job of taking Wlad’s best assets – his jab and his clinch-warfare – away from him. Fury’s feet were fantastic, and his head and hip movement resembled that of a much smaller man.

Tyson Fury: This is going to be a really easy fight

YouTube video

By Scott Gilfoid: This is expected to be the hardest fight of Tyson Fury’s career tonight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) on Sky Box Office. Indeed, you can make an argument that this could very well be Fury’s Waterloo with him being trapped, forced into a hole, and then battered into submission until he waves the white towel of surrender at some point in front of 55,000 fans at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

For some reason, Fury thinks this is going to be a very easy fight for him tonight. He’s saying it’s going to be his easiest fight. I don’t know if he’s just whistling past the graveyard or if he actually believes what he’s saying. With the 27-year-old Fury, it’s almost impossible to know what he’s really thinking.

Fury: After I beat Wladimir, I’m calling out Vitali

wlad5555By Tim Fletcher: Despite being an underdog in tonight’s fight, Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) is already looking past his fight against champion IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) towards a much desired match against Wladimir’s brother former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

Fury says he’d like to face the 44-year-old Vitali, who he doesn’t rate as highly as Wladimir in terms of boxing skills. If Fury somehow gets past Wladimir tonight, he’ll need to hold up on a fight against Vitali, because Wladimir has a rematch clause in his contract with him, and he’s not likely to let Fury just walk off with all of his titles without forcing a second fight between them.

Fury talking retirement if he loses to Klitschko

fury100By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) plans on doing a lot of sulking if things don’t work out for him tonight in his big fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs).

Fury is back on the old retirement theme he’d been blabbering about several weeks ago. He’s saying if he loses to Klitschko tonight, then might wind up retiring from boxing and just putting his feet up and doing nothing. Whether Fury will have enough money from the Klitschko fight tonight for him to just hang out on the couch with his feet up for the remainder of his life is the big question.

Wladmir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury – the breakdown

fury6789By By Simon Allen: More or less nobody in the boxing world is given to believe the big Englishman can win in Dusseldorf on Saturday night. Tyson Fury however is a different beast to most and his confidence and unpredictability mean no one can categorically rule him out.

He faces a formidable champion in Wladmir Klitschko, owner of a record that boasts 27 world title fights, 23 successful title defences and unbeaten in 11 years. It seems to me that calibre of opponent is as good a place to start as any.
