Wladimir says he’s taking Tyson Fury to court over rematch

wladimir

By Scott Gilfoid: Former world champion Wladimir Klitschko said earlier Wednesday that he will be looking to take IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to court over their rescheduled October 29 rematch in Manchester, England. The two giant heavyweights were originally supposed to have faced each other two months ago on July 9, but Fury suffered an ankle injury training that caused the fight to be postponed three months until October 29. However, the negotiations seem to have hit a snag, as Wladimir has decided to take to social media to say he’s going to take it to court. It’s unclear whether Wladimir is serous or not.

Fury is going to have major problems when he does eventually fight Wladimir because it’s going to be a completely different fight than the last one they had. Wladimir will have made adjustments and will be looking to take Fury’s head off with every punch. Fury can’t make the same adjustments because he lacks punching power We already saw Fury spoiling like made against Wladimir last November. Fury can’t spoil anymore than he already did, can he?

Tyson Fury to start training camp next week

fury7

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury says he plans on restarting training camp next week for his rematch against former world champion Wladimir Klitschko on October 29. The fight is supposed to be taking place at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK. Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) suffered an ankle injury while training for his previously scheduled fight against Wladimir on July 9.

Fury, 28, apparently has finished licking his wounds from his ankle injury and is ready to restart the camp. Some boxing fans think that Fury’s injury was a way for him to give him more time to lose some of the tonnage that he’d put on after beating Wladimir last November.

Whatever the case, Fury is restarting training camp this week, and he looks considerably thinner than he did when he first started his last training camp. You no longer can see Fury’s double-chin that he was sporting, and his jowls around his face don’t look puffy with fat like they were before he started his previous training camp.

The WBA heavyweight situation

haye67777

By Gav Duthie: Despite the World Boxing Association organizing a tournament in the heavyweight division to establish a single champion within their establishment the situation at present is more complicated than ever. Tyson Fury is the Super champion but the regular title is very much up for grabs. In the last 10 years the ‘Regular’ title has been held by Nikolay Valuev, Ruslan Chagaev, Alexander Povetkin, David Haye and briefly by Lucas Browne before it was stripped from him for failing a drugs test.

The predicament seemed simple, the title was handed back to Ruslan Chagaev but after failing to respond to requests to face mandatory challenger Fres Oquendo, Chagaev expressed that he has decided to retire from boxing. As a result the WBA can do one of two things:

Lennox Lewis thinks Fury beats Joshua

fury4544

By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis is picking unbeaten IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to give IBF belt holder Anthony Joshua his first defeat of his career when/if the two of them face each other soon inside the ring. Lewis believes that the fight would need to happen soon for Fury to have a chance of beating the 6’6” Joshua, because the 2012 Olympic gold medalist is improving at a rapid pace and soon should be past Fury.

“Right now the No 1 is Tyson Fury because he beat the man that beat the man that beat the man,” Lewis said to the bbc.com. “But Anthony Joshua is growing, he’s knocking out everyone they put in front of him and he’s looking good.”

Wilder: Of course I want Fury and Joshua

1-Deontay Wilder vs Chris Arreola - July 16_ 2016_Fight_Ryan Hafey _ Premier Boxing Champions (12)

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs) did his job last Saturday night in turning back the threat from the powerful Chris Arreola (36-5-1, 31 KOs) in stopping him after round eight after his corner pulled the plug on the fight at the beautiful Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

Wilder said after the fight that he wants the British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Wilder wants to take their heavyweight title straps from both of them. Wilder, 6’7”, says he’s not sure if they want him. Well, given the fact that neither of them never seem to bring up Wilder’s name in conversation, I’d say that they have no interest in sharing the ring with the lightning fast Alabama native.

Lewis says Joshua shouldn’t fight Fury or Wladimir yet

joshua86111

By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis thinks IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua lacks the experience to fight Tyson Fury or Wladimir Klitschko right now. Lewis wants to see Joshua get more fights under his belts before he looks to fight the likes of Fury or Wladimir.

Joshua doesn’t need to worry about Fury or Wladimir in 2016, because he’s not going to be fighting either of them this year. Fury is injured still, and there still isn’t a date for the rematch between him and Wladimir. It’s likely that the two giant heavyweights will fight in either late October or sometime in November.

Wladimir Klitschko says fight date for Tyson Fury rematch not set

wladimir73

By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like the injured Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) spoke too soon when he mentioned that the rematch with Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) would be taking place on October 29. Wladimir says the date hasn’t been set as of yet. They were supposed to fight two days ago on July 9, but Fury came down with an ankle injury.

Some would say the injury was a gift because it saved Fury from having to take the fight with Wladimir while still carrying round an abundance of jellyrolls around his midsection. Fury had no hope of losing that eight before the fight, and he clearly wouldn’t beaten Wladimir while carrying around 20 to 30 pounds of excess blubber.

With the rematch date still not set, Fury should have enough time to burn the remaining bit of fat off in time for the fight.

Arreola says Fury No.1 heavyweight, not Deontay

arreola1111

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Arreola says he thinks IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is the top heavyweight in the division. He points to Fury’s experience in beating Wladimir Klitschko last November that sets him apart from the other heavyweights in the division.

Arreola says the other top heavyweights like WBC champion Deontay Wilder and IBF bet holder Anthony Joshua haven’t beaten anyone of distinction yet for him to consider either of them as the #1 guy at heavyweight.

Tyson Fury confirms Oct. 29 date for Klitschko rematch

fury888

By Scott Gilfoid: The injured IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) took to social media on Friday to confirm that his rematch against former world champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) will be taking place on October 29, as previously reported by Wladimir’s manager Bernd Boente earlier this week. Fury vs. Klitschko will be staged at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK.

Fury is still rehabbing an injured ankle that he hurt while training for the Klitschko rematch. The injury is supposed to keep the 6’9” Fury from being able to train hard for six weeks. That’s too bad for Fury because he still needs to burn off a lot of the flab that he put on after his win over Klitschko last November.

Fury kind of let his weight get out of control after that victory. He came into the training camp for the rematch against Klitschko with a noticeable pot belly, which made him look for older than his 27 years.
