Tyson Fury’s boxing license suspended by British Boxing Board

fury7

By Scott Gilfoid: Former IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s boxing license has been suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control while they look into his various issues. This was a formality, as Fury has vacated his remaining IBO/WBA/WBO titles as of Wednesday of this week.

Fury, 28, wants to focus on getting his life together by getting treatment for his medical problems.

Fury could be returning to the ring in 2017 once he takes care of his problems. One can imagine that he’ll likely have his boxing license reinstated at that time. It depends on whether Fury wants to come back or not to the sport. You can never tell what a fighter is going to do when they’ve lost interest, as Fury seemingly has in competing. Having Fury out of the ring for an indefinite period of time isn’t good news for British boxing. You can argue that Fury has the most charisma of the British heavyweights. He may not be the most talented one of the bunch, but he outshines the others in the charisma department in my view.

Tyson Fury vacates world titles – Breaking news

fury888

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury has revealed tonight that he’s vacated his WBA/WBO/IBO heavyweight titles so that other fighters can fight for the belts. Fury, 28, will now looking to get medical treatment to take care of his problems. Fury revealed recently that he was ‘medically unfit’ to fight. His trainer Peter Fury believes that he can make a return next year possibly.

Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko last November by a 12 round unanimous decision to win the IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wladimir had a rematch clause in the contract, and they were supposed to fight the rematch on July 9 this year.

Fury pulled out of the fight with a foot injury. The fight was scheduled for October 29, but Fury pulled out of that fight as well on September 23.

The Heavyweight Division Is Back

fury4544

By Dominic Chapman: After years of being in the darkness and outshone by the more exciting lighter weight divisions, big time heavyweight boxing looks to be back. With Wladimir Klitschko’s dominance and not so exciting fighting style, not to mention lack of challengers with real pedigree many fans have became disillusioned with the sports glamour division.

It took Britain’s Tyson Fury to dethrone the long reigning heavyweight King Klitschko in Germany and get fans talking about the heavyweights again. However with a rematch clause in the contract the two were scheduled to fight again and with the first fight not being the most entertaining of bouts, it would be a fight mainly for the hardcore boxing fans and not one to capture the public’s imagination.

WBO gives Tyson Fury 10-day deadline

fury7377

By Patrick McHugh: The World Boxing Organization has given WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to show cause for why they shouldn’t strip him of his WBO belt. The deadline for Fury is until October 17th, as the letter the WBO sent to him was on October 7.

If Fury fails to respond by that date, he’ll be stripped of his WBO title. Fury failed a drug test on September 22 by VADA. Fury needs to explain why he’s been inactive for almost a year, and he’ll likely need to give a time estimate for when he can return to the ring.

He’ll also need to speak on the positive drug test results for the banned substance cocaine. What’s not known is whether the WBO will want Fury to appear or if it will suffice for him to send a letter to the WBO explaining everything.

Tyson Fury to resume career in 2017

fury7

By Scott Gilfoid: WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury could be back inside the ring in 2017 to resume his boxing career, according to his trainer Peter Fury. However, Peter thinks Tyson’s WBA/WBO titles should be freed up so that others can fight for them. Fury is dealing with problems related to mental health and drugs. Ideally, Fury should be back next year, but we’ll have to wait and see if the motivation is there with him.

Peter sees Fury back in the gym in March or April 2017. Fury could be out of the ring with a suspension of some sort depending on what happens with his positive drug tests.

Tyson Fury admits to cocaine use

fury4

By Allan Fox: WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has admitted in an interview with the Rolling Stone of him using cocaine. Fury, 28, says that cocaine isn’t a performance enhancing drug and that he should be able to have a life. Unfortunately for Fury, cocaine is viewed as a banned substance whether it is a performance enhancing drug or not, and he could be stripped of his WBA and WBO titles soon and possibly suspended for a period of time.

Fury says he’s not trained in months, and he’s been dealing with depression. Fury captured the IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles last November in beating Wladimir Klitschko by a 12 round unanimous decision in Dusseldorf, Germany. Instead of this being the high point in Fury’s career that would take him to the next level of superstardom, it’s dragged him down into the depths.

Tyson Fury NOT retiring

fury434

By Scott Gilfoid: It’s sad how many gullible people in the media actually BELIEVED WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury when he said he was retiring from boxing earlier on Monday. I understand what makes Fury tick, so I didn’t buy it for a second. Sure enough, I was right. Fury came out and said he’s NOT retiring. He then taunted the people in the media for them reacting so quickly in thinking he actually retired. Gilfoid didn’t believe it for a second. I know better.

Fury said this on his social mediate site just minutes ago:

Tyson Fury ‘retires’

fury666

By Adam Godfrey: Tyson Fury took to twitter today to announce his retirement from Boxing, presumably in the wake of allegations that the Heavyweight champion has tested positive for cocaine. Fury, who holds the WBA and WBO straps, has not fought since he defeated long time champion Wladamir Klitchko on points in November 2015. The Mancunian has experienced a turbulent 11 months since that victory, having been forced to pull out of two separate rematches with the Ukrainian, as well as being embroiled in the aforementioned drug scandal, all amid rumors of deteriorating mental health. It now seems a given that Fury will be stripped of his remaining titles.

Fury’s announcement came via a tweet, which read:

Tyson Fury posts photo-shopped “Tyson-Montana picture

fury7

By Allan Fox: WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury appeared to make fun of his alleged positive cocaine test by positing a photo-shop picture of himself as Tony Montana from the 1983 movie, “Scarface.” The photo that Fury has of himself is him sitting in front of a large pile of cocaine from the movie ‘Scarface.’

The character from the movie Tony Montana has had his face replaced by Fury’s in the Twitter photo. Fury allegedly tested positive in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) conducted test on September 22 for his October 29 rematch against Wladimir Klitschko. Fury pulled out of the fight on September 23 and his future in boxing remains uncertain.

The film ‘Scarface’ is about a rags to riches story about a Cuban refugee that ends in tragedy after he becomes a drug kingpin. His life quickly spins out of control from the cocaine until he’s shot to pieces in the end by a rival drug gang.

Tyson Fury can have B-sample tested for cocaine

fury098

By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has allegedly tested positive for cocaine from his September 22nd test by Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) for his now aborted October 29 rematch against Wladimir Klitschko. According to Dan Rafael, Fury can have his B-sample tested for cocaine. That’s the good news.

If Fury comes out clean, then he at least has the cocaine issues out of the way, and he can then get his medical problems taken care of so he can get back inside the ring and fight Klitschko or whoever. I’m thinking the Klitschko fight probably won’t ever happen though.
