Pacquiao-Bradley 3: Is it insane to fight again?

YouTube video

By Yannis Mihanos: They say doing the same thing and expecting different results is an insane thing. Former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) fighting again for the third time Tim Bradley (33-1-1 13 KOs) seems insane too. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, who promotes both Pacquiao and Bradley, made this fight happened. Will it serve his marketing purposes? Will it be a box office hit?

Pacquiao favored to beat Bradley

bradley94By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao is a slight favorite to beat Tim Bradley this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is their third fight together. Bradley won the first fight in 2012, and Pacquiao the second in 2014.

Bradley figures that he needs to win conclusively in order to get the decision and prove that he’s the netter fighter than the 37-year-old Pacquiao. However, with Pacquiao now 37, and coming off of a loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and a serious shoulder injury, Bradley likely won’t get a great deal of credit even if he beats Pacquiao.

Roach wants rehydration limit for Canelo vs. Pacquiao

roach432By Dan Ambrose: While many boxing fans are talking about this Saturday’s fight for Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) being potentially the last of his long 21-year pro career, his trainer Freddie Roach and promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank have been talking up a storm about a hoped for fight between Pacquiao and Golden Boy Promotions star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs).

Pacquiao is facing Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 Kos) this Saturday night on HBO pay-per-view. However, Roach and Arum have been stoking the fires of a big money PPV fight between Pacquiao and Canelo by talking about wanting to make that fight happen. However, Roach took it to another level today in saying that he would push for a rehydration limit for the fight if takes place.

Roach: I think Pacquiao can out-box Canelo

roach43By Dan Ambrose: Trainer Freddie Roach says he thinks Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) will out-box Saul “Canelo” Alvarez if that fight takes place. Roach says that Pacquiao has always done well against bigger fighters, and he thinks that Pacquiao could do the job on Canelo as well with his speed.

It’s unknown at this point if Pacquiao will continue his pro career beyond his fight this Saturday night against Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. If Pacquiao does continue fighting, then Canelo is definitely a possibility for him.

Pacquiao speaks on Canelo fight

pac66By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum said this week that he’d like to match him up against WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at a catch-weight of 155lbs this year if Pacquiao gets past Tim Bradley this Saturday night, and if Pacquiao doesn’t decide to retire after the fight.

Arum thinks it’s a doable fight that he can setup now that he’s doing business with Canelo’s promoters at Golden Boy once again. However, Pacquiao doesn’t sound too interested in fighting the much heavier and younger Canelo Alvarez judging by his comments. Pacquiao says he just wants to fight Bradley this Saturday night, and then go back home to the Philippines so he can help his people.

Bradley wants to hurt Pacquiao with body shots

YouTube video

By Chris Williams: Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) says he could take it to the inside to wear down the older Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) with body shots on Saturday night in Pacquiao’s last fight of his career. Bradley had success throwing to the body in his recent fight against Brandon Rios last November in scoring a 9th round knockout.

If Bradley had thrown nothing but head shots, Rios likely would have been able to take those shots without any problems.

This Weekend in the Ring (April 9th 2016) – Pac/Bradley; Ramirez/Abraham; Martin/Joshua; More

bradley2222222
By Todd Creel – Boxing fans, we have ahead of us an entertaining weekend inside the ring. There are some interesting match-ups scheduled, including a few title bouts, a fight between two pound-for-pound ranked pugilists, and some entertaining regional scraps (in the Washington D.C. Area at least). Let’s take a few minutes to have an unbiased look at some of these.

At the top of the list, we have a match that has been discussed ad nauseam. I am of course referring to the third fight in the trilogy between Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao and Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley. Regardless of anyone’s opinion on the first two fights, we enter this bout with a record split with one win a piece. The winner of this one will, on paper, walk away with the bragging rights. This is an intriguing bout, bringing with it a few questions needing to be answered. Bradley is now training with the veteran Teddy Atlas. This will be a defining bout for the pair, as a clear win will prove that the addition of Atlas has brought Bradley’s game up a notch. Will having Atlas in his corner give Bradley the edge in this third installment? On Pacquiao’s end, we have the tried and true trainer Freddie Roach. Roach has prepared Manny for numerous fights, and judging by pictures and videos, Pacquiao appears to be in excellent condition. However Pac-Man has been in a great many entertaining fights and wars that may have taken their toll. In any case, this fight has the potential to be a memorable one as neither fighter is known for backing down.

Will the Third Time be the Charm for Bradley?

YouTube video

By Michael Montero – This Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley meet for the third time in a matchup that had many boxing fans groaning when it was first announced. After all, almost everyone feels that ‘Pacman’ clearly bested ‘Desert Storm’ in the first two bouts, regardless of the scores rendered by two judges after their first encounter in 2012. Pacquiao certainly didn’t help matters with his recent inflammatory comments about homosexuals and the subsequent media fallout that set the Twittersphere ablaze. Yet even though ticket sales lagged initially, fan interest has grown in recent weeks due to several factors.
