Dzinziruk-Martinez: This may be Sergio’s toughest fight

By Jason Kim: WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KO’s) faces the HBO approved WBO junior middleweight champion Sergeii Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KO’s) on March 12th at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Dzinziruk, 34, doesn’t have the big power that WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik possessed in his fight with Martinez, but Dzinziruk is a much better fighter in terms of boxing skills and has one of the best jabs in the junior middleweight division.

Martinez vs. Dzinziruk: This is the best Sergio could get

By Chris Williams: With Manny Pacquiao and his team uninterested in taking a fight with WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KO’s), the Argentinian star has to be content with defending his title against little known WBO junior middleweight champion Sergeii Dzinzirum (37-0, 23 KO’s) on March 12th at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Due to the weak talent in the middleweight division, there really isn’t very many options for Martinez in terms of quality bouts unless he wants to fight unification bouts every time he fights.

Image: Sergio Martinez vs. Sergeii Dzinziruk on March 12th? This could be a great fightBy Dan Ambrose: WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KO’s) could be facing WBO junior middleweight champion Sergeii Dzinziruk on HBO on March 12th in a fight that will take place at Madison’s Square Garden, in New York. This fight would easily be the better fight compare to another fight that will be taking place on the same night on pay-per-view between World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto vs. 37-year-old Ricardo Mayorga.

HBO wants Sergio Martinez to fight Dzinziruk, not Andy Lee

Image: HBO wants Sergio Martinez to fight Dzinziruk, not Andy LeeBy Dan Ambrose: According to the latest news, HBO has passed on the idea of WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez fighting middleweight contender Andy Lee (24-1, 18 KO’s) on March 12th and want Martinez instead to fight unbeaten World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight champion Sergeii Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KO’s). I can understand why HBO might not be interested in the Martinez-Lee fight because Lee has done pretty much zero since being stopped in the 7th round by Bryan Vera, a former contestant from the reality television program The Contender.

The Forgotten Fighter

Image: The Forgotten FighterBy Louise Clarke: The Light middleweight division is currently packed with big names and big fights that people want to see. However switch the clock back three or four years and it wasn’t even a shadow of the division it once was. But there was a few stand-out fighters.

One of these stand-out fighters is a Ukrainian southpaw. He is appropriately nicknamed Razor mainly due to his sharp jab. He is a typical East European fighter with a very upright style and a good jab. An added bonus is that he does have an ability to knock people out with 23 of his 37 wins coming by knockout however he has only won two fights by knockout since he has entered the world title scene. Any idea who this is yet?

Dzinziruk to fight Collazo on October 2nd, but wants bout with Paul Williams – News

Image: Dzinziruk to fight Collazo on October 2nd, but wants bout with Paul Williams – NewsBy Jason Kim: World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KO’s) will reportedly be facing former WBA welterweight champion Luis Collazo (30-4, 15 KO’s) on October 2nd, according to Fightnews.com. Dzinziruk, 34, is looking to get the big fights in the division, and wants to fight Paul Williams. Since that’s not happening and may not be happening anytime soon, Dzinziruk will now be fighting the 29-year-old Collazo. That’s an interesting pick, because Collazo isn’t ranked in the top 15 by the WBO right now, although he is ranked at number #10 by the WBC in the junior middleweight division.
