By Daniel Ciminera: Nathan Cleverly’s hopes of winning the the European Boxing Union light-heavyweight European title this month have been scuppered due to Brancalion’s camp postponing yet again! The bout, originally supposed to be on the same card as Khan vs Salita, was postponed until January the 29th and moved to Rovigo, Italy, Brancalion’s hometown when the Italian’s promoters won the rights to the purse and hostage for the bout for the vacant title.

Arena, in Manchester. The knockout loss for Maccarinelli, his third in his last four fights, has left him pondering what to do with his career and whether he should retire or not.

Making his 3rd defense of his Commonwealth title Cleverly overwhelmed a badly overmatched Boyle with a flurry of power punches to the head and body, raking him from head to midsection with unanswered blows until referee Marcus McDonnell stepped in and stopped the one way slaughter at 2:27 of the round.

Cleverly, 21, hurt Onyango with several hard hooks to the body in the 1st, backing him up to the corner.
