By Simon Hirst: Much has been said of how big fights that the public want are avoided for whatever reason. Some of these reasons are fighters wanting too much money, other are fighters are unwilling to travel. The fact there are four world titles makes it easier for champions to defend their titles against those who are unworthy or of an easier standard. There are challengers getting world titles ahead of those who are more worthy because they’ve taken a easier route.

Could Dawson Beat Kessler and Froch?
By Sean McDaniel: With undefeated IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (28-0, 17 KOs) talking about moving down to the super middleweight division to look for some big fights, I’m now wondering just how well the 26-year-old Dawson would do against World Boxing Association super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs) and WBC title holder Carl Froch.
Will Carl Froch Ever Get The Recognition He Deserves?
By Adam Fillingham: After Carl Froch’s defeat of Jermain Taylor on the 25 of April a lot of people have written off the victory due to Taylor being ‘past his best’. Is this true? Or is this just an excuse due to Froch being British? Just look at the fighters that he has as potential opponents:
Lucian Bute:
Froch Wants Bout With Kessler; Jacobs vs. Walker This Saturday – News
By Jim Dower: Today on Steve Bunce’s Boxing Hour show, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KOs) said that he’d be willing to fight World Boxing Association super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs) next, even if it meant that Froch would have to travel all the way to Denmark in order to fight Kessler in his home country. Strangely enough, this is the exact same advice that former WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe gave to Froch recently, telling him to beat Kessler and establish himself as the best super middleweight in the division.
Mikkel Kessler Would Beat Carl Froch
By Inder Sirha: With all do respects to the undefeated Carl Froch, who I have followed and watched his fights up and coming into the boxing world before his first test with Pascal, his surprising comeback victory over Jermaine Taylor just lacked a display of talent. I just truly believe if he were to fight Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs), the holder of the World Boxing Association super middleweight title, Froch would lose heavily to Kessler by a one sided beating.
Is Andre Dirrell The Best Super Middleweight In Boxing?
by Chris Williams: Unbeaten super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KOs) went a long ways towards proving that he’s one of the top fighters in the division – if not already the best – when he destroyed Derrick Findley in a 6th round stoppage on Saturday night at the Buffalo Run Casino, in Miami, Oklahoma. Dirrell, 24, a 2008 Olympic Bronze medalist for the United States, literally toyed with his opponent Findley for six rounds until the fight was mercifully stopped in the 6th by Gary Ritter.
When Is Kessler Going To Step It Up?
By Scott Gilfoid: After 11 years of fighting as a pro, super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs) has fought frighteningly mediocre competition consisting of a whole slew of fighters that I’ve frankly never heard of in my life. I had hopes that Kessler would start stepping it up after his fighting with Joe Calzaghe in 2007, but since then Kessler has continued fighting soft opponents and failed to step it up against a quality fighter like IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
Who’s Next For Dawson After He Beats Tarver?
By Chris Williams: Unfortunately for International Boxing Federation (IBF) light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (27-0, 17 KOs), he has to face Antonio Tarver again, this time on March 14th in a rematch that few people want to see. However, once Dawson, 26, destroys Tarver for the second time, it’s time to look forward into the future for other potential fights for Dawson, who is considered to be the best fighter in the light heavyweight division at this time.
Kessler To Fight Larsen?
By Erik Schmidt: In article from Per Ake Persson today at Eastsideboxing.com, Per states that World Boxing Association super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs) has agreed to fight Mads Larsen. However, there’s nothing definite yet. If the fight does take place, it would likely occur in April. Larsen is also from Denmark, but is now fighting out of Germany and fighting for Sauerland Event.
Froch Eyeing Bouts Against Bute, Kessler and Taylor
By Eric Thomas: In an article in the TimesOnline, unbeaten super middleweight Carl Froch (24-0, 19 KOs) said that he’s interested in taking on the best in the super middleweight division, saying “I’m happy to fight the likes of Jermain Taylor or Lucian Bute or Mikkel Kessler. I don’t believe in having easy fights.” Missing from those names, however, is Joe Calzaghe, who Froch has been pursuing without success for some time.
