By Scott Gilfoid: British promoter Frank Warren is saying that the unification bout between IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (33-3, 13 KO’s) and WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (35-3, 10 KO’s) will still be taking place, according to the Guardian.
Warren said to the guardian.co.uk “I have a contract with Vazquez…I have a contract with Ricky. I like Ricky. I don’t want to fall out with him…Vazquez is contracted to box Ricky Burns on that date.”
Well, there it is. Burns will still be facing Vazquez on April 20th, and I it’s just as well. It’s not as if anything would really change all that much if someone else were promoting Burns.
