In watching some of the recent sparring between the 23-year-old Gesta and prospect Jose Benevidez Jr., I can’t say I was very impressed with Gesta. He looked terrible, absolutely terrible in getting drilled over and over again the tall, slim Benevidez.
Gesta wants fight with Brandon Rios
By Chris Williams: Fringe lightweight contender Mercito Gesta (22-0-1, 12 KO’s) reportedly badly wants a fight against WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KO’s) is really hoping that Rios will give him a shot. However, Rios rightly do isn’t even slightly interested in wasting time fighting Gesta and I can’t blame him.
