By Liam Santiago: The light welterweight division is arguably the hottest division in boxing right now. With names such as Amir Khan and Nate Campbell moving up from lightweight and young talent bursting onto the scene such as Devon Alexander, the division is jam packed with talent. Yet, how many of these big names are about to fight each other? A competition, similar to the ‘Super Six’, of the super middleweight division, would surely benefit boxing fans in a massive way.

Should Malignaggi Fight Maidana Next?
By Jason Kim: Light welterweight contender Paulie Malignaggi (26-3, 5 KO’s) is riding high right about now because of the controversy surrounding his 12 round decision loss to Juan Diaz on August 22nd, in Diaz’s home town of Houston, Texas. Many people witnessed the fight and were angered when Diaz won a fight that appeared to belong to Malignaggi by at least two rounds.
Khan to vacate his WBA title Rather than Facing Maidana?
By Scott Gilfoid: According to the latest news from Boxing Monthly, there is talk that World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) will vacate his WBA title if he’s forced by the WBA to fight interim champion Marcos Maidana (26-1, 25 KO’s). How come I’m not surprised? Apparently, Khan’s trainer Freddie Roach doesn’t want Khan to fight Maidana next, and prefers to go after better (easier) opponents like Erik Morales instead.

Ortiz Didn’t Quit!
By Manuel Perez: Let me get some things straight for all the critics that have come out of the woodwork after Victor Ortiz’s 6th round stoppage loss last weekend against Marcos Maidana. Ortiz didn’t quit and wasn’t about to quit at the time the fight was stopped. The referee is the one that took Ortiz over to the ringside doctor and he was the one that said the fight should be stopped after he saw what a mess of a cut that Ortiz had over his left eye.
Should Ortiz Fight Maidana Again?
By Matt Stein: I personally think that light welterweight contender Victor Ortiz (24-2-1, 19 KOs) is a great fighter, possibly as good as his promoter Oscar De La Hoya thinks he is, but I’m not so sure that Ortiz has the chin or the intestinal fortitude to beat knockout artist Marcos Maidana (26-1, 25 KO’s) in a rematch if it comes to that.
