Deontay Wilder’s September 26th fight against Johann Duhaupas to be announced tomorrow

1-WILDERvsMOLINA-06132015-4685By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s September 26th fight against #12 WBC Johann Duhaupas (32-2, 20 KOs) will be announced tomorrow on Thursday, according to Dan Rafael. The Wilder- Johann Duhaupas will be televised on Premier Boxing Champions on NBC from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

While some boxing fans are somewhat upset about the 6’7” Wilder’s choice of opponent other fans are pleased and see Duhaupas as a good choice for Wilder to stay busy. I personally think it’s a good opponent for Wilder, because the 6’5” Duhaupas has a lot of talent and can help Wilder sharpen up his claws to get him ready for his important fight against Alexander Povetkin next year.

Glowacki: The U.S market is now open to me

150814_Fights_1912(Photo credit: Ed Diller/DiBella Entertainment) By Dan Ambrose: We may have a star in the making in Poland’s Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) scoring an 11th round knockout victory over long-standing WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) last Saturday night in their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It was a fight of the year candidate with the way both fighters hit the canvas and supplied nonstop action from start to finish.

To say that Glowacki vs. Huck stole the show last night from the main event between Antonio Tarver and Steve “USS” Cunningham is putting it lightly. It was no contest. The Glowacki-Huck fight was in another dimension compared to the old timers fight in the main event between Tarver and Cunningham.

Marco Huck vs. Krzysztof Glowacki: Heart – Hunger – Killer instinct

150814_Fights_2084(Photo credit: Ed Diller/DiBella Entertainment) By Gerardo Granados: Why is it that many of the so called big names can’t understand that it is not about to have an undefeated record or to bully past prime former belt holders, but instead it is all about of to witness actions of valor, courage and bravery mixed with boxing skills? What happened last night with undefeated challenger Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) stopping WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) in the 11th round at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey was great even for the eyes of the boxing purists; and to deny the beauty of that fight means that the viewer must reconsider to watch another contact sport.

The fight was close and competitive and most important it was entertaining to watch. I´ll be honest because I knew very little about southpaw Glowacki and I thought that Huck was going to finish him off with quite ease but I was totally wrong. The statistics are just cold numbers and can’t show the heart, hunger and killer instinct that a lion possess.

Tarver-Cunningham fight to draw; Glowacki stops Huck in 11th

150814_Fights_1961(Photo credit: Ed Diller/DiBella Entertainment) By Jim Dower: In a disappointing outcome, former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (31-6-1, 22 KOs) fought to a 12 round draw against former IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham (28-7-1, 13 KOs) on Friday night on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The final judges’ scores were 115-113 for Cunningham, 115-114 for Tarver, and 114-114.

After witnessing an exciting fight in the co-feature between Marco Huck and Krzyzstof Glowacki, the boxing fans were kind of spoiled by the time the Tarver-Cunningham fight took place for the main event. The fans expected nonstop action, but unfortunately the 46-year-old Tarver was only capable of throwing occasional hard left hand power shots. Before long, the crowd started booing the lack of action, and they pretty much continued to boo off and on from the 2nd round until the 12th.

Tarver-Cunningham & Huck-Glowacki tonight on PBC on Spike TV

150813_Weighins_852(Photo credit: Ed Diller/DiBella Entertainment) By Allan Fox: In a crucial fight for him, former 175lb world champion Antonio Tarver (31-6, 22 KOs) will be back in the ring tonight against #6 IBF heavyweight contender Steve “USS” Cunningham (28-7, 13 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV from the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey.

Tarver, 46, cannot lose this fight if he wants a fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko before he steps away from the game. If Tarver loses the fight, then he might as well consider retirement because it’ll take too long for him to rebuild after a loss of this nature.

Weights: Tarver 217, Cunningham 204; Huck 199, Glowacki 198

150813_Weighins_896(Photo credit: Ed Diller/DiBella Entertainment) By Jim Dower: Former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (31-6, 22 KOs) weighed in on Thursday for his fight at heavyweight this Friday night against former IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham (28-7, 13 KOs) in their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Tarver weighed in at a soft-looking 217lbs. For his part, Cunningham was a trim 204lbs, and looked more like a cruiserweight than a heavyweight.

Tarver, ##9 WBA, is hoping to get in line for a world title shot against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2016. Cunningham, #6 IBF, is ranked a little higher than Tarver, but both of these guys are going to need to count on the 39-year-old Wladimir picking them out in a voluntary defense if they want to get a world title shot next year. Neither of them is going to get pushed up to the No.1 rankings by the IBF or WBA based on what they do in this fight on Friday night.
