Mayweather not worried about Pacquiao’s high volume attack

YouTube video

By Chris Williams: It’s increasingly clear that Manny Pacquiao’s game plan for the Floyd Mayweather Jr fight is to throw a ton of punches and hope that Mayweather can’t defend against them all when they get inside the ring on May 2nd.

The high punch volume attack is an idea that Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach dreamed up six years ago when he first started talking about which game plan would work against Mayweather. Now six years later boxing fans will get a chance to see for themselves whether Roach knows what he’s talking about or if he’s merely deluded like he was when he was Oscar De La Hoya’s trainer for the Mayweather fight in 2007. Roach’s game plan didn’t work in that fight, and it’s quite possible that his game plan will come up empty for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.

YouTube video

By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s helper/assistant manager Buboy Fernandez is daring Floyd Mayweather Jr to fight Pacquiao in a toe-to-toe manner in their bout on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Buboy, who gushes about how hard Pacquiao is working out for the fight, likes Pacquiao’s chances of beating Mayweather if he can get him to fight in a brawling manner rather than by using his boxing skills.

Khan doesn’t deserve to fight Mayweather or Pacquiao, says Kell Brook

khan1010By Scott Gilfoid: It’s no secret that former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) is hoping he can get a big money fight in the near future against Floyd Mayweather Jr and/or Manny Pacquiao after Khan gets done facing Chris Algieri in their proposed fight on May 30th. IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook doesn’t think that Khan deserves a big payday fight against Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Brook thinks that Khan still needs to prove himself against him before he can get in line for Mayweather and Pacquiao.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqNGyCAfLbg

Fortune: Only Freddie Roach Knows how to Beat Mayweather

roach445By Raj Parmar: Manny Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune believes trainer Freddie Roach is going to be the difference maker on May 2 when Manny steps into the ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr. After going through a few weeks in training camp alongside both Roach and Pacquiao, Justin is convinced that Manny is certain to win the fight if he listens to Freddie’s instructions.

“It’s only Freddie who knows how to fight Mayweather and win,” Fortune said to Philboxing, “So, Manny should listen to the letter all the instructions of his chief trainer, not only during training period but, most importantly, given at the corner. It’s actually all a matter of listening and execution of what the instructions are.”

Pacquiao: I want to teach Mayweather a lesson

floyd5551(Photo credit: Esther Lin: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao) By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao figures that he’ll be teaching Floyd Mayweather Jr a lesson when he fights him next month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao wants to teach Mayweather how to be a good person, and how to be humble.

Just how precisely Pacquiao plans on doing that is unknown. If his idea is to model the behavior that he feels he wants from Mayweather if he beats him, then I’m not so sure that it’s going to work. If Pacquiao is victorious on May 2nd, he’s going to be pulled in every direction by the media, and asked a million questions.

The Blueprint 2.0 – How Pacquiao can beat Mayweather

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ze6VhS1wNw
by J.R. Leon: Before I go into how Manny Pacquiao can beat pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., let me say I expect Floyd to win via 12rd. unanimous decision. There, I said it. No need to send any death threats. This is not a post hating on Floyd, this is a post trying to figure out a way for Manny to beat him(easier said than done).

Now if you were to listen to Oscar De La Hoya, Robert Garcia or even many boxing fans, you would think that the only way to win against Floyd is to use constant aggression and unrelenting pressure. This is the so called “blueprint” that De La Hoya said he left for others to follow, even though everyone who has used it has lost decisively – including Marcos Maidana on their first fight, which for some odd reason some people think he won.

Roach: Pacquiao wants to Punish Mayweather for Domestic Violence History

roach674Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that Manny for the first time in his career has developed genuine hatred for his opponent as the showdown with undefeated Floyd Mayweather quickly approaches. Roach points out Mayweather’s history with domestic violence as a major factor in why the “Pacman” is eager to start throwing punches at Mayweather.

“Manny is really against domestic violence,” Roach said to USA Today, “It is a big issue maybe in the Philippines for him and being a congressman he can control some of that stuff. That is a big plus for me that Manny does not like the guy, I think the killer instinct is going to come back a lot faster.”

Pacquiao working on using his left hand more, says Roach

Manny Pacquiao(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has been having the 36-year-old Filipino star working more on his left hand for the Floyd Mayweather Jr (47-0, 26 KOs) on May 2nd rather than his right.

Roach figured out that Pacquiao has been using his right hand more in his training than his left, so Roach has been focusing on having Pacquiao train just with his left hand to make it a weapon again.
