YouTube video

By Ryan Allan: Perhaps the most intriguing fight of the night, certainly for the more casual fan as Olympic Gold medallist and the hugely likeable Anthony Joshua continues his ascent up the heavy-weight ranks with his toughest test to date against the never been stopped Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson.

Johnson definitely talks the talk and believes he is going to upset the apple-cart with a win that would send shock-waves through the sport although with the bookies pricing Joshua at 100/1 ON to win this fight, we can assume that Johnson is unlikely to be a man of his word.

joshua63By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like #6 WBC heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s fight this Saturday night against high level journeyman Kevin Johnson (29-6-1, 14 KOs) could potentially be a lot tougher fight for the 6’6” fighter than originally thought.

Joshua says he’d be in a bodybuilding gym if his career was based on power

YouTube video

By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (12-0, 12 KOs) bristles at the suggestion that he’s just a fighter who is mainly focused on his power game. Joshua hasn’t shown a lot of finesse since turning pro. Each fight follows a similar pattern with Joshua coming against an older fighter in his 40s, and then he unloads with a flurry of shots to stop the poor sap.

joshua66By Scott Gilfoid: It’s still unknown at this point whether #6 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (12-0, 12 KOs) will ever rise above beating 40+ old journeyman level fighters that his promoter Eddie Hearn has been routinely feeding him one after another like Hors d’oeuvres, but one person thinks the 6’6” Joshua is the real deal is former IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch.

Anthony Joshua faces Kevin Johnson this Saturday, May 30th at the O2 in London, UK

joshua222By Scott Gilfoid: #6 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (12-0, 12 KOs) will continue his slow climb up the heavyweight ladder this Saturday night when he gets inside the ring with 35-year-old former world title challenger Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (29-6-1, 14 KOs) in a 12 round bout at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

This is a fight that would have been interesting six years ago when Johnson was 29-years-old and still in his prime, but he’s clearly no longer the same fighter that fought former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in 2009 in losing a 12 round unanimous decision.

Anthony Joshua to destroy Kevin Johnson in 4 or 5 rounds, says Moore

joshua22By Scott Gilfoid: In a little over two weeks from now, #6 WBC heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua (12-0, 12 KOs) will be putting his unbeaten record on the line against the toughest test of his two-year pro career against former heavyweight world title challenger Kevin Johnson (29-6-1, 14 KOs) on May 30th at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

There’s a very real chance that the lumbering 6’6” Joshua may be extended for the first time in his career due to the strong chin and superb defensive skills of the 35-year-old Johnson. However, Sky Sports commentator Jamie Moore thinks that Joshua, 25, is going to have an easy time slicking through Johnson in this fight.
