Errol Spence wants Khan, Thurman or Porter on September 12th

spenceBy Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten #8 WBA welterweight contender Errol Spence (17-0, 14 KOs) wants a big name for his next fight on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s next fight on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Spence and trainer Derrick James want Amir Khan, Keith Thurman or Shawn Porter for the September card, and they believe that one of Mayweather’s welterweight titles will be on the line for the fight.

Mayweather said last month after Spence’s 3rd round knockout win over Phil Lo Greco (26-2, 14 KOs) on the Adrien Broner vs. Porter fight card on June 20th, that he’d like to see Spence battle it out against Porter or Thurman on September 12th for one of is welterweight world titles that he’d be giving up for them to fight over.

Is Bradley, Mayfield or Berto more deserving than Keith Thurman to get Floyd Mayweather Jr?

thurman331211By Gerardo Granados: There has been talk around the internet regarding Tim Bradley as a deserving option for the undisputed, undefeated WBC – WBA – WBO Welterweight Champion of the World Floyd Money Mayweather Jr. for his next fight on September 12th, but to be honest, Bradley, former WBC welterweight belt holder Andre Berto or little known Karim Mayfield deserve a shot at Money more than the undefeated young lion and current “regular” (that means he is not the true organization champion) WBA welterweight belt holder Keith One Time Thurman.

Andre Berto once was perceived as potentially as a welterweight boxer who could have done great things at the division but he slowly faded away after his epic battle against Victor Ortiz back in April 2011 which he lost, having a record of 3 loses one by knockout and 3 wins on his last six.

Thurman losing patience with Mayweather

thurman7By Dan Ambrose: After saying earlier this week that he’s willing to wait for as long as it takes for the big fights to come for his career, WBA World welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) is beginning to show some impatience with WBA/WBC/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs), who he’s hoping to fight on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 26-year-old Thurman badly wants the fight with Mayweather, and likely the huge payday that would come with it. Thurman feels he’s done enough to deserve the fight with Mayweather, even though Thurman’s best win of his career was against Robert “The Ghost’ Guerrero and not against anyone that you can call a true talent.

Errol Spence calls out Khan, Thurman and Porter for September 12th

spence53By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten #8 WBA welterweight contender Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14 KOs) is making it known that he wants to fight one of the following top welterweights for his next fight date on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s next fight date on September 12th: Amir Khan, Keith Thurman or Shawn Porter. Mayweather has already said that he’ll give up one of his welterweight titles so that Spence can fight a top name for the vacant title.

Mayweather is hoping that Porter or Thurman will accept a fight with the young 25-year-old Spence in order to pick up a vacant world title, but it looks like neither of them value a world title enough to want to fight Spence.

Keith Thurman willing to wait for big fights

thurman4By Allan Fox: WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) isn’t in any kind of rush to get the huge mega-fights that are out there awaiting him in the future. While he’d like to get the big match-ups against the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, he realizes that he’s the new generation of fighter and he’ll be getting the big fights once those guys walk away from the sport within a year or two.

The 26-year-old Thurman sees the welterweight division running through him in the future, as he takes over the 147lb class and becomes the big king of the division. It’s unfortunate that he can’t get a baton-passing fight against the likes of Mayweather or Pacquiao before they retire from boxing, but he’s not worried about it.

Thurman explains why his Knockouts have disappeared

thurman8888By Allan Fox: WBA World welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) has hit a dry streak in his career where he’s no longer knocking guys out like he was before when he was fighting lower level, record-padding opposition.

Thurman, 26, said earlier today that he’s now facing crafty opposition who are focusing on not getting knocked out, and that’s why he’s not getting the KOs like he had before. He says his power is still the same, but he’s now facing guys that trying to survive.

The Thurminator: A Man Amongst men

thurman8888By Jonathan Gonzalez: Having exploded onto the boxing scene over the last years, Keith Thurman hasn’t wasted any time in carving out his name amongst the greatest of boxing’s hottest division today. It’s one thing to be a standout where competition is scarce but to become the known as the “boogeyman” in a realm where boxing’s #1 pound-for-pound fighter resides is something in and of itself.

That’s not to say that Thurman would handle Mr. Money Mayweather easily, but to be considered a potential threat to the throne merits enough credit considering the countless number of fighters in the world struggling to make names for themselves.

Keith Thurman trashes Mayweather in interview

thurman5By Jaime Ortega: In a recent interview, WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) with vitriolic confidence harshly lashed Floyd Mayweather Jr. with criticism after hearing the champion say that Thurman should fight in his next undercard against unbeaten Errol Spence (17-0, 14 KOs). Thurman got upset with Floyd for him possibly giving Andre Berto, Karim Mayfield and even Amir Khan a shot over his undefeated record alongside Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs).

“Floyd fight Kell Brook, fight a big welterweight, don’t [expletive] fight Amir Khan bro, don’t fight that [expletive],” Thurman said via 78SPORTSTV and added, “Go ahead and fight an undefeated fighter, if you don’t want to fight me because you don’t want to fight a brother who can punch and hurt you…then go fight him (Brook) for the fans!”
