You’ve got to feel sorry for the 25-year-old Parker, because he’s wasted all this time with negotiating and training for the fight, only to see Fury pull out with an injury. The Parker vs. Hughie fight will be postponed until further notice.

By Jeff Aranow: Following a request by K2 Promotions, the World Boxing Council has given the green light to a rematch between newly crowned WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (43-4-1, 39 KOs) and former WBC champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (46-1, 38 KOs) by ordering a rematch between them. Gonzalez lost a disputed 12 round majority decision to Rungvisai on March 18 last month at Madison Square Garden in New York. The judges scored the fight 114-112, 114-112, and 113-113. the 29-year-old Gonzalez was knocked down by a right hand to the body in round 1. It was a flash knockdown. In round 6, Rungvisai lost a point for a head-butt.

WBO World Heavyweight mandatory title challenger Hughie Fury will face the champion Joe Parker in Auckland, New Zealand, at the Vector Arena on Saturday 6th May, it was confirmed last night.

Undefeated Fury, from Manchester, will travel to the other side of the world as he looks to cause a massive upset against the similarly unbeaten and big-hitting Parker who is a superstar in his native homeland.

Fury aims to emulate cousin Tyson’s amazing feat of ending the reign of then division king Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 when he travelled to Germany and tore all the belts from the seemingly invincible Ukrainian.
